Episode 18
With Honor (03-18-02)
Brief Synopsis: Jordan teams with
a Marine detective (Carlos Gomez) to investigate the death of a soldier who
abandoned a post in Afghanistan and died in Boston.
Jordan: Jordan being Jordan. She
was pushy and ignored the rules and tries hard to get herself in trouble. She
spoke her mind. I kind of had in inkling that the nephew was guilty when we
learned who it was that was shot. And then when we learned that his Uncle was
having an affair with the Private I was pretty sure. It’s nice to figure things
out every now and then. It was an all around good story though. It kept your
attention.
I was surprised Jordan went off on
Garret in front of everyone. I know she always speaks her mind, but she usually
has a bit more restraint in front of people. She’s been vocal about Maggie from
the start though, so Garret should have been expecting some sort of out burst.
She’s lucky he likes her or she’d once again be without a job. What Jordan does
well is apologies—probably because she ends up doing it so often.
Lily: Lily was all over the
place in this episode. It seemed like she’d handled Garret getting back with
his ex very well. A bit up set, but she basically told him to go figure it
out. In this episode she was mad at him for choosing his ex over her? What did
she expect when she walked away and told Garret to make a choice? Maggie moved
right in and claimed her man. Lily should have at least expected that to
happen. I can understand being upset like she was when she took a week to go to
Mexico. But she was completely spaced in this episode.
Bug: I noticed Bug’s reaction
towards Lily a few episodes ago, but I thought I was imagining things so I
didn’t say anything. I guess I really wasn’t imagining. Bug is interested in
Lily. He’s so passive aggressive though—I wonder if he’ll ever get the courage
to directly approach Lily or if he’s just a background admirer. I’m not sure
what I think on this topic yet. I never liked Garret and Lily together. I can
much more easily see Bug and Lily together I just don’t know if it’s right.
We’ll see how it progresses.
On Bug’s case with the suicide. Yikes.
Suicide for the good of the family. That idea is wrong. I’m sorry, but to me
that’s the easy way out. Everyone has hard times—it’s how you deal with them
that defines who you are as a person. It’s what makes you stronger. It’s what
defines us.
Garret: Garret’s a good ME. He’s
working on his personal life which is a little messed up at the moment and I
think, as he predicted, that Maggie’s going to cause him heartache. I think he
was steamrolled by Lily and Jordan. Neither who really had a right to be
lecturing him. Though it looks like Lily’s over him and the worst that will
come with Jordan is she’ll say ‘I told you so’ when things start going wrong
with Maggie.
Nigel and Garret worked on Phat. The
case was humorous—nothing special but entertaining. It was the perfect story
line for Nigel. That was one big dude.
I think Trey is on his way out. He
lacks the idiosyncrasies that Nigel and Bug have that make them so interesting.
Trey by all counts is a normal and though there is nothing wrong with that it
makes him the least interesting. He has the least to add to cases. I like him,
but I think when his fellowship ends he’s out of here. I’ll miss him.
Didn't like the military case. I usually never do,
so no surprise there. Too many things upset me
about this case...but I'll not get into a rant on them.
2 out of 5 Dead Bodies.
