Brief Synopsis: Woody and Jordan head investigate
the death of Tommy O'Brien who flew in from Las Vegas with three million dollars
handcuffed to wrists. They also see two people along with the dead man. The
casino host (Sam) and security guard Danny McCoy end up as suspects in the
murder of Tommy O'Brien. Danny McCoy tells Woody that he hit Tommy O'Brien
because he felt he was getting too close to Sam.
Jordan and Woody: This was a fun episode for Woody
and Jordan. Oh how out of place were those two in Vegas—though I have to
say Jordan managed to fit in much better—once she got the wardrobe improvement.
Woody was cute and true to himself.
Danny: It’s kind of like a you and Woody thing.
Jordan: Oh we’re just friends.
Danny: Yeah right. You’re just friends.
Even complete strangers pick up on the vibes between Jordan
and Woody.
Great chemistry between Danny and Jordan. Given the chance
I can see those two as great friends. That’s the one fun thing about crossover
episodes is seeing two established characters from two different shows
interact. I thought the Jordan-Danny match up was wonderful. They played
perfectly off of each other.
Jordan: Oh hey it’s our murder suspect slash investigative
helper.
Danny: You’re cute. Not funny. But definitely cute.
Danny and Woody—now Nigel summed it up perfectly: Two Alpha
males. They were fun to watch. And they eventually worked well together once
they’d each laid their boundaries.
Nigel: May I say he’s a great supporting actor. He
adds so much to scenes. The scenes with him and Jordan just jump with life.
Anyway…I liked him in this episode. The middle man (literally—this episode).
Garret: Well, well Rene is pregnant…very pregnant.
Now if I sat back to think about it the last time Garret and Rene were together
(that we know of) was the end of season two Pandora’s Trunk. She walked in on
Lily and Garret kissing. It seemed that was the end of their relationship (even
though she makes some comment about not being exclusively tied to Garret or
something like that), but I don’t know if it really was. If that’s the case—it
was the end of the relationship—then the child isn’t Garret’s like Rene said. I
however question if it really isn’t Garret’s. Bear with me…I’m going to explain
my theory here.
Remember back to an earlier episode of season two
Prisoner Exchange when Garret and Rene first worked together and had a heart
to heart. She said her marriage broke up because after five years of trying
they couldn’t conceive any children. Now that doesn’t mean that she’ll never
conceive, but what are the chances of a one night stand with her husband ending
up leaving her pregnant? It’s like a one in a million shot! Anyway I have this
theory that the child could be Garret’s. It would add a twist if they ever
needed to add one. It’s just a theory (I’ve gotta toss a few out every now and
then). Just had to comment on the event.
Rene: I met him for a drink and…
Garret: One thing led to a mother?
That’s a classic. And the fact that it came out of
Garret’s mouth!
Lily: Sad case. That a child could so callously
kill is a scary thought. That girl has some major problems. Makes you wonder
how much the father’s dislike of the neighbor and his ‘opinions’ and the absence
of the mother shaped the kid. I rather thought Lily did a good job here—she did
her job.
After four years we’ve seen everyone paired up together in
some form or another. I’ve come to the conclusion that my favorite pairings are
like what we had in this episode. Lily, Bug and Garret and Woody, Jordan and
Nigel. Not to say other match ups don’t work, but those two combinations just
gel so perfectly.
4 out of 5 Dead Bodies. Take it at face value for what it
was—a fun crossover. Some great lines! Fun interaction and an interesting case.
