examination of a victim who claims she was raped. Lu
shows up. Brandau says she and Jordan will be working
together. He wants them to do everything by the book.
This is a big case. The person she claims raped her is
Quentin the star baseball player.
Office/Room with Garret: See baseball player—Quentin.
He’s talking with Garret. The player says he’s not a
rapist.
Hospital: Lu talking with girl—Shannon. Jordan is doing
the exam. Shannon is explaining how she followed him
from the bar. She was drunk. She started talking with
him, making up stuff. He took to her and invited her up
to his room.
Room:
Quentin says tons of people were following him at the
restaurant/bar. He doesn’t like attention. One girl he
started talking with. Invited her up to his room. He’s
not sure why he did that. He’s married. Now will have
to deal with his wife. He says it was a mistake, but it
wasn’t rape.
Hospital: Shannon says talked her way to him. She
remembers waking up and taking a shower. And then he
threw her out.
Room:
Quinton says slept with her. She didn’t say no. She
took a shower then left.
Act One: In
Break room and they’re (Nigel, Bug, Lily, Jordan) all
talking about Quentin. They talking about how people
of ‘high power’ or ‘big names’ seem to get away with
these things. And Nigel says maybe he is innocent.
Maybe the girl is lying. Jordan is quite through all of
this.
Woody
comes in. He wants to talk with Jordan. She says
there’s nothing to talk about.
Freight elevator: Big block of ice. There’s a man in
there. He was found on Mount Washington. It’s a
Fighter pilot from 1950. Nigel and Bug do their thing
to get the ice off the guy. Woody is there watching.
They remove the ice and the body is preserved. He’s
missing his dog tags. So they don’t know who he is.
Nigel
takes closer look. He sees something else in the ice.
It’s a picture—of a wife and a son. They guess that the
son is probably 60 by now.
Lily
meets with Brandau. Lily congratulates him on getting
the big case. He says it’s a nightmare. He thinks Rene
is just waiting for him to screw up. Brandau’s phone
starts ringing—to Beethoven. It’s Walcott.
Jordan in lab. She’s going over the evidence. Lu comes
in. Ask how she’s doing. She has nothing on Quentin
that proves he raped her.
Shannon was on antidepressants and drinking alcohol. It
explains why she blacked out. Garret is testing the
evidence. He doesn’t get a match on the semen. It’s
not Quentin’s. They research further and realize that
Shannon slept with two people that day.
Lu
interviewing Shannon again. They want to know what
really happen. She says she slept with her boy friend
Drew after she left the hotel. She says he didn’t do
anything wrong. Lu gives the impression she doesn’t
believe her. Shannon goes off shouting how she thought
she was supposed to stand up to her rapist. That it
didn’t matter who she was or what the circumstances
where that she should still be taken seriously.
Morgue: Lily comes in. She’s got nothing on the dead
soldier. Nigel is trying to take a dental x-ray. Bug
and Nigel are going at it. Nigel says they can’t wait
till he thaws. They need to find out who this man is
now so that they can find the son and let him see his
father before he starts to decay. He gets very
emotional about it.
Lu
comes into Woody’s office. He’s playing with Jordan’s
gift (a dart board). Lu says he should have talked
with Jordan. Woody says he tried but Jordan didn’t want
to discuss it…Lu comments that she meant he should have
tried before today.
Jordan and Lu arrive at Shannon’s place. She killed
herself. Jordan makes a comment to Lu: kind of tough
when you feel like the world is against you (implying
that Lu didn’t believe the girl). Lu says she was just
trying to get to the truth. Jordan goes to look at
body. She looks at knot around neck and says this was
staged. She was strangled. She didn’t hang herself.
Act Two:
Drew is talking with Lu. He’s frustrated that they’re
not doing anything. Lu says whoever did it will pay.
Jordan informs Lu that she died about 3 hours ago.
Garret enters. Wants to know what they have. Jordan
explains that the killer wiped down everything with
cleaning agent. Jordan and Lu want a warrant to go get
evidence off of Quentin. Brandau explains he has
nothing to get a warrant with. They need to get him
some proof. He can’t get them a warrant until they do.
Jordan and Lu say they can talk to Quentin and ask for
his cooperation. Hopper lets them in. He explains he
looks out for Quentin. They’re friends. Have been
since grade school
Quentin says he wants to help. His wife is there. She
defends him. Says he didn’t do it. She says Quentin
was with her last night. They went out to dinner.
Talked. Jordan says she’ll turn over every stone. If
it wasn’t him she’ll prove it. He lets them check him
for trace.
Morgue: Woody is looking at the dead soldier. Bug comes
in. Nigel comes in, he knows who the guy was. He was
born in 1924. Woody wants to know how he found out.
There was a registry for missing soldiers. He’s Lt.
Robert Nicolson. The son is coming in, he already
contacted him.
Conference room: Son is there. Explaining how he was 5
when his father disappeared. He says the air force told
them there was a plane missing but didn’t know anything
else. They let him go see his father. The man looks at
the dead body and says that’s not him. He freaks out
and yells at Nigel for getting his hopes up. Nigel
looks crush.
Lab:
Jordan going over evidence. Brandau enters. Jordan
explains how Shannon’s cervix is bruised. It’s not done
by consensual sex. Jordan says she was brutalized.
Brandau has no sympathy. Says they have nothing. A
bruised cervix is not evidence. Jordan accuses him of
being afraid. She starts yelling at him. Brandau gets
very uppity and suggest to Garret (who’s in the room
with them) that Jordan be reassigned. He walks out.
Garret says he thinks it best if he takes over. Jordan
looks frustrated.
Act Three:
Lily looks out office as Jordan pass. She stops her.
Lily heard what happen in the lab with Brandau. Lily
blows up at Jordan telling her how hard Jeffery is
working and Jordan is not helping, instead Jordan of
attacking Brandau. Jordan looks shocked and just walks
away from Lily.
Nigel
in lab. Bug comes in. Nigel asks if Bug is okay. Bug
says he’s fine, but how is Nigel doing? Nigel says he
got carried away. He wanted a happy ending. But that’s
not like real life. Bug picks up that he’s talking
about his father. Nigel says hasn’t seen or spoken to
his father in years.
The
dead man in the morgue is Lt. Frank Rigroski. Says they
were both located from same division. Nigel gets that
the two must have been flying together and then Lt.
Robert Nicolson must still be out there somewhere.
Garret comes into Morgue and Lu is there. She seems
upset. She says she didn’t believe Shannon yet Jordan
did. Garret gives Lu new info. There were cigar
leaves—traces of it on Shannon.
Precinct: Lu brings Quentin’s friend (Cooper) into the
interrogation room. He says he offered her money to
leave Quentin alone and drop the charges. She wouldn’t
take it. He says that a pizza guy saw him. When he
rang he left. A lawyer comes in. Stops interview.
Morgue: Bug comes in says the government can’t do a
search for Lt. Frank Rigroski for another 14 days. Nigel
has been doing some research. There were pine needles
cause in the cockpit of the seat that was brought in.
Nigel says he was able to use them to determined where
the plane was located (with in a 500’ area) Nigel says
Mr. Nicolson should be around here points to map. He
says they’re going up there. Bug objects but Nigel
doesn’t listen.
Woody
comes into lab. He asks Jordan what she’s doing. Woody
asks if he can help. A beeper goes of. Jordan says
there is a DNA match with the swab she took recently
from Quentin’s mouth—that matches what was on Shannon
the first time. There was sperm in Quinton’s mouth
(when the swabbed him the second time). Woody asks how
that’s possible. They realize that maybe Quentin is
gay. Maybe he never had sex with the girl in the first
place…
Act Four:
Jordan and Bug in the wilderness hiking. Bug says he’s
not sure if he can feel his toes. Nigel says not that
cold. Nigel throws snowball at him. Bug says fine
I’ll stop complaining.
Nigel
spots the plane. There is no one there. Belt seat is
unbuckled. Maybe Lt. Frank Rigroski walked away. He
could be anywhere. Bug wants to go. Nigel says go
then. He’s staying. Bug tries to convince Nigel to
leave. Bug burst out: “Go back to the morgue pick up
the phone and call your dad.” Nigel looks sad. He
explains how his father got remarried a year ago. Has a
new son. Frankie. Nigel’s brother told him. His dad
never said anything. Never even called him to let him
know.
Bug
looks at Nigel and says they’re friends where do you
begin searching. Nigel looks happier.
Woody’s office: Lu wants to know how the talk went.
Woody stumbles. Lu gets it. She says he didn’t talk
with her. Woody makes up excuse that Jordan was working
on case. Lu says she’s off it. Woody says you don’t
know Jordan. Then Lu explodes. Says he thinks that
he’s afraid to tell her. That he’s trying to keep his
options open. She storms out of office.
Mountain: Nigel and Bug are climbing, exhausted. He
says there has got to be an easier way. Nigel pulls out
lap top/map. They talk it out and conclude that he was
probably heading somewhere flat. Where he could set off
flares.
Jordan at Quentin’s place. She says she doesn’t think
he did it, but she wants to know who he’s covering for.
Jordan pushes him. She says he needs to come forward.
If he doesn’t come forward he’s just as guilty. He says
he’s worked his whole life for to get to this point to
play baseball. He can’t jeopardize that now. Jordan
wants to know at what cost…that he’d even sacrificed who
he is? That his secret was more important than doing
what’s right. Wife comes up. Quentin tells Jordan to
get lost.
Act Five:
Lu is pacing in morgue. Garret comes up. He asks if
everything is ok. She’s fine. Wants to know what
Garret has. Garret says that there was digested pizza
so Cooper was telling truth. She had to have died a few
hours after eating pizza. They bring boyfriend in.
Drew says she slept with him after she slept with
another guy—he didn’t believe that she was raped. He
got mad that she could do that to him.
Morgue: Lily calls to Jordan. She goes into her
office. Lily says sorry she took her head off
yesterday. Quentin comes in. He wants to talk with
Jordan. Quinton explains what happened. He says he
called Cooper to come get Shannon and get her out of his
room. When he came back with his boyfriend they found
him raping her. That both him and boyfriend will
testify.
Nigel
in crypt with son. There is a skeleton on the table.
Explains how they found his father and what happened to
him out there.
Bug
tells Nigel he did a good thing. Nigel says should I
call him? Bug says yeah you could. Bug says he learned
something this year. Sometimes better to just let go.
Precinct: Cooper wants to know why arrested him again.
Lu explains how he’s under arrest for raping
Shannon...his ‘friend’ came forward.
Brandau and Jordan are in the other room watching Lu.
Brandau apologizes to Jordan. He says if this is what
happens when Jordan gets thrown off the case he wants
her on his next one. Since she never really gave up on
the case and kept working on solving it.
Lily
is standing with Bug outside of lab. She tells Bug he
did good thing, Bug says Nigel did the good thing.
Garret comes into Jordan’s office. He wants to know
what she’s doing if she has a date? She looks sad and
says no. Garret asks if everything is okay. She says
yeah. It’s not too bad. Today she helped put a rapist
away. That kind of out weighs not having a date.
Garret says well you’ve got a date now. Meet me at the
place (restaurant) around the corner, my treat.
