Episode 3
The Ties That Bind (10-08-01)

Brief Synopsis: Jordan's next case takes her to prison in hopes of finding out if the torso of a murdered woman belonged to a corrections officer killed while at work.

Jordan and Max: ‘Time to start celebrating mother’s life rather than dwelling on her death.’  Though Evelyn was the one to suggest it Max did take to the idea and he voiced it to Jordan.  Jordan doesn’t like it, but I have to say Max (and Evelyn) has a point.  Obviously the unsolved death of her mother is something Jordan’s very attached to and not ready to let go.

I’m getting the feeling that though Jordan and Max love each other very much but, they’ve got some issues. It feels like a tough love situation.  Jordan doesn’t strike me as the easiest of people to deal with.  And Max seems a little close-mouthed…secretive.

Jordan and Evelyn: There’s definitely a little war going on between those two.  Evelyn, it seems, is trying very hard to ‘change’ Max’s life.  Health food, avoiding police work, getting rid of his wife’s clothes, visiting his wife’s grave in July (birthday) verses during the anniversary of her death: These are all very obvious signs of authority.  Evelyn is letting it be known that she’s head Alfa.  Jordan can be Max’s daughter, but she (Evelyn) is his girlfriend and she’s in charge.  Things are going to be run her way and Jordan better get used to it and used to it fast.

On a side note: That was just rotten starting the vacuum at 6:30am, while Jordan’s sleeping.  Evelyn doesn’t want Jordan around.

Jordan and Trey: Though they have a testy moment in the beginning (Jordan’s still reeling over the fact that her father is ‘changing his ways’ which she attributes to Evelyn) they worked well together.  Trey’s got an easy attitude about him and doesn’t get to hyper over Jordan’s outburst.  They work well together—there’s a bit of chemistry between the two.

Bug: He’s a little weird.  He got way too excited over the body.  I like him and Nigel though.  They’re different a little quirky and add a fun dynamic to the group.

Lily and Garret: Lily is head over heels in…???? well I’m not sure what.  Whatever it is she’s got it bad for Garret.  She drives me nuts with her baby eyes and puppy dog love she displays.  I wish Garret would just tell her he wasn’t interested.  Lily needs to stop being so ‘easy’.  Then maybe I’d like her a little more.

I do have to give Lily bonus points for her discussion with Garret about the wife killing her husband and then she killing herself.  She put a totally new light on the situation and helped Garret deal with it better than he was doing.
