Devan was born in Manhattan on the Upper East Side.  Her mother, Dorothy, lives in Paris—Devan speaks fluent French.  Her father’s, Roger, whereabouts are not known.  Devan went to boarding school in Switzerland.  She got her undergraduate degree at Brown University and went to Medical school at UCLA.  She spent three years as a resident at Boston General.

Devan’s first day on the job (season 3: Is that Plutonium in your Pocket) she got taken captive by people on a fake case.  She displayed a strong personality on her first day—inquisitive, bold, spoke her mind.  Devan goes stir crazy if she doesn’t keep busy.  She’s always the first in line and the last to leave.

Devan was always working to get ahead of everyone else.  She had a knack for ‘slightly’ ticking people off—not always intentional.  Sometimes it was a result of her hardheadedness.  Though she and Jordan butted heads and often gave the impression they didn’t like each other, Devan considered Jordan her friend.  Jordan didn’t realize this until after Devan’s death though.  Dorothy, Devan’s mom, talked with Jordan and told her.

Devan was a cheerleader in High school.  She was voted ‘Most likely to never change’ in high school. (I didn’t think boarding schools functioned like typical US high school…do they have cheerleaders?)  The only ‘B’ Devan ever received was in Algebra in high school.  Ever since she’s been a perfect student—always at the top of her class.

Devan liked to torment Woody, though they grew on each other.  Devan and Woody even dated briefly before she died in the plane crash (season 4: Fire in the Sky).  No one ever knew what she was doing in DC or what was going on with her.

Devan lived in Worcester, MA.  She drove a silver Volkswagen bug.  She was a Patriots fan.  She enjoyed walks on the beach.

Devan was played by the actress Jennifer Finnigan.
