Teaser:
They do a flashback to scenes from the season 5 finale.
Jordan and JD talking before the wedding. Then
flash to JD lying dead on the bed and Jordan standing
over him with a gun. The team working to see how
the evidence points to Jordan. Woody and Lu
arguing about whether Jordan did it or not, and Woody
saying they are "done". They stumble on the
information about Judge Clarence Gordon which is what
leads Jordan to Washington DC.
Garret, Nigel, Woody,
and Lu are all at the crime scene of the dead bartender.
Nigel questions if Jordan could have gone around the
bend. Macy assures everyone there is no way Jordan
could have killed anybody, but that they all need to
prove it quick. He asks Nigel to pull trace, but
he is worried it is just more proof that Jordan did it.
They all try and figure out where Jordan is, saying that
she is either tracking the guy who drugged her, going
after the judge in Washington DC., or that she could be
dead.
Lu informs Woody that
he is being put on administrative leave, and also
informs Macy and his team that they will have nothing to
do with the body of the bartender. There will be an
independent pathologist assigned to perform the autopsy.
In Washington DC: It
is now daytime, and Jordan is standing outside the
Federal Courthouse waiting for Judge Gordon. She
sees him walking toward the courthouse and she starts to
approach him, holding a gun in her hand. She fires
the gun at him a few times and Judge Gordon is lying
down on the ground. We see Jordan standing over
him ready to fire one last shot, and at the sound of the
gunshot we are taken back to when Jordan first spots the
Judge walking toward the courthouse. It was all a
play in her head...it shows us what she is thinking.
Jordan just watches him, and he notices her watching
him. He turns to go into the courthouse, and
Jordan starts to follow him.
Act One:
Jordan does start to follow the Judge into the
courthouse, and he notices her. Once inside the
courthouse, again the Judge looks back and sees her.
Jordan notices they are scanning people and remembers
she has a gun. So she turns around and leaves the
courthouse.
Back in Boston, Woody
and Lu argue about the fact that he is being put on
leave and that there is going to be an IAD
investigation. Lu plays smart and says "I thought
we were done." Woody continues to defend Jordan,
and tries to convince Lu that she is innocent.
They argue back and forth some more and then Lu asks
Woody to tell her where Jordan is because she assumes he
knows. Woody tells her that he doesn't know where
she is.
In the morgue Nigel
and Bug are going to attempt to get information off the
body of the bartender, even though it is being guarded
by the police. Bug is a little hesitant, but goes
along with Nigel's plan. They need to get trace
off the body and compare it to Jordan's blood and see if
anything matches. There is another body in the
same room as the bartender, and so they are trying to
gross the police officers out by opening the body bag
and letting the body fluids leak out. It works,
one of the officers leaves the room to get sick, and
shortly after the other one leaves. Just before
Nigel and Bug are able to do anything with the
bartenders body the independent pathologist shows up.
Nigel and Bug play innocent for a second, but she knows
what they are up to. She asks them "Have you
touched my body?", and Bug answers with a "no."
Nigel tries to lie to the new Doctor, but Bug confesses
that they should have waited for her, and that they
think the body contains evidence that could prove
Jordan's innocence. Macy comes in and and asks
Nigel and Bug to leave so Dr. Switzer can get
started...even though he doesn't approve of her being
there.
Jordan is at JD's
apartment in Washington DC. There is crime scene
tape on the outside of the door, but she doesn't care
and cuts through it. Once inside she notices that
his place has been tossed, and knows the police would
not have done it. That tells her someone was there
looking for something. She begins to look around.
Back at the morgue
Lily shows up at the morgue and they are all supportive
of her decision to cancel the wedding. They share
a few words about it and then get back to work.
Woody enters and comments that he picked a bad day to
break up with Lu...does not help that she is so pissed
about that. They are still searching for the drug
in Jordan's blood, but still no luck. 597 and
still counting. Nigel had been trying to track her
cell phone, and realized that she had upgraded to a new
system which would allow him to track it even if it had
not been used. This is when they find out she is
in Washington DC. Woody relays to Macy that she is
in Washington DC and is going to go find her. Macy
talks him out of going because he is a cop and could get
fired. Macy is the one who decides to go, and in
the mean time Nigel has disconnected Jordan's SIM card
so that Lu would not be able to find her.
Back in JD's
apartment Jordan found some pictures of her and JD.
She starts to have flashbacks of when they "broke up" in
her apartment. And then of when they dancing at
Lily's wedding, and finally when she finds him dead on
the bed. Jordan is standing and reliving holding
the gun over JD's body, and then his eyes open.
She steps back and hears a gun shot and turns. She
is now facing the mirror that was in the hotel room with
the gunshot in it. In the reflection she sees
herself and Judge Gordon. She backs away from him,
but then he is behind her and she starts struggling with
him over the gun. This was all in her head because
we start to hear and see Garret struggling with her over
the gun and Jordan finally realizes it is him and not
the Judge. She is scared and confused.
Garret takes the gun away from her.
Act Two:
Garret is taking the bullets out of the gun and asks
Jordan if this is the gun that killed the bar tender.
Jordan assures him she just needed it for protection.
Garret goes back to the fact that her prints were on the
bartenders throat, but Jordan defends herself and tells
Garret that the bartender admitted to drugging her.
Then she told Garret that someone shot him, and shot at
her too. Garret is mad that Jordan just assumes it
is the Judge and that she came to Washington DC to track
him town and make him pay. Jordan keeps her
defensive attitude and says that she needed to save
herself and find out what happened to JD. Garret
plans on taking her back home to Boston so that he and
Woody can help her prove her innocence the right way.
Jordan is not wanting to go back, partly because she
knows that Lu thinks she's guilty, and also that even
her friends are unsure and are willing to see her as a
killer. Jordan then jumps to the fact that the
police didn't trash JD's place, and she is guessing that
it was the killer...however she has not found anything.
So Jordan convinces Garret that they have to go after
the Judge.
At the courthouse
Jordan and Garret are just outside Judge Gordon's
office. Jordan looks at Garret and says that she
is sorry. Garret does not know what she is sorry
about...but then Jordan punches him in the gut and
knocks the wind out of Garret. She leans into him
and says "Heart attack, go with it." Jordan runs
into the office and informs the secretary that there is
a man in the hall having a heart attack and that she
should go give CPR while she calls 911. The
secretary goes out into the hall.
Back at the morgue
Dr. Kate Switzer is getting ready to start the autopsy
of the bartender. There is Metallica playing in
the background as she is getting out her tools.
She is just getting ready to start when Lily comes into
the room. Dr. Switzer informs her that the autopsy
room is off limits. Lily tells her she just needed
to grab some files for Dr. Macy. In the process of
getting the files, Lily drops a pen camera into a class
so that her and the rest of the group can watch her
perform the autopsy and hear her findings.
Back in the computer
room Woody, Nigel, and Bug are looking at the video from
the camera. Woody comments on the Metallica song,
and Bug states that he saw her as more of a Celine Deon
person. Dr. Switzer starts the autopsy with a
bullet probe before starting the autopsy and Nigel think
she is showing off. However Bug things she is
"that" good. Woody gets a call informing them that
no other trace from the scene where the bartender got
shot was found other than Jordan's. Nigel, however
figures out that the shot came from across the street
and the shooter was never in the alley. Therefore
they need to go back to the crime scene and look for
evidence across the street where the shooter was.
If they find something there that matches something in
Jordan's hotel room they can find the killer and prove
Jordan innocent. They then see that Lu is in the
autopsy room with Dr. Switzer informing her she needs
the autopsy report today because her suspect (Jordan)
had been spotted in DC and she wants to know if it is a
double homicide.
Back in DC:
Jordan starts
searching the Judges office for clues. She comes
across his briefcase and his laptop inside. She
opens it, but it is programmed for a login name and
password and she can't think of anything....so she just
takes the laptop with her. As she is getting up
from behind the desk Judge Gordon walks in and notices
her. He picks up the phone to call security, but
Jordan threatens him and says "go ahead, call security.
If you tell them about me I will tell them about you."
Judge Gordon hangs up the phone and Jordan continues
telling him what she knows. He claims she does not
know anything, but when she tells him she thinks he
killed JD he is shocked that the "reporter" is dead.
Jordan can see that maybe he is not the killer, but
still thinks he has something to so with it. Judge
Gordon offers her money to keep quiet, and that just
makes Jordan more mad. He continues to offer her
money so this information does not get out, and Jordan
continues to yell at him and ask who killed JD.
Garret barges into the office and tells Jordan they have
to go. Jordan leaves, but tells the Judge "you're done"
as she walks out of the office.
Just outside the
courthouse Jordan argues with Garret that she was so
close to getting answers, but Garret tells her that the
place is crawling with cops and they needed to get out
of there. Jordan is still trying to plea her case
as people around her start to scream and yell.
Judge Gordon is standing on a balcony of the courthouse
looking like he is going to jump. After a few
seconds, he does jump, and all Jordan can do is
helplessly stand by and watch. She feels all her
answers are now lost because Judge Gordon just committed
suicide right in front of her. Garret tugs at her
a few times to get her to leave...again so she is not
seen by police.
Act Three:
Back at the Morgue, Woody is in the break room making a
peanut butter sandwich Lu comes in and asks him what he
is doing. He claims he is just getting a snack,
but Lu accuses him of tampering with more evidence.
Woody says there is no way he could do that because she
had Dr. Switzer send everything to the CSU crime lab.
Lu again asks Woody what he is doing there, and he tells
her that he is staying with his friends because they are
all worried about Jordan. He tells Lu that's what
friends do when they're worried. Lu then yells at
him that the autopsy report of the bartender suggests no
one other than Jordan as a suspect in that crime.
She also says they might have missed her (Jordan) at the
courthouse, but they will get her. She tells Woody
to relay the message to Jordan...because Lu thinks Woody
is in contact with her.
Garret and Jordan are
sitting outside looking at Judge Gordon's laptop.
They get a call from the gang back at the morgue.
Nigel hacked into the Judge's computer and found traces
of money being deposited into an account. They
find that the last deposit made by Judge Gordon was
eight days ago, and the start of his last trial.
The case was of a car accident victim that got elevated
to vehicular manslaughter because the driver left the
scene. They can't see the big deal about this
case, but they are going to dig deeper and try and find
out. Jordan asks Woody if he can access the DC
police files, and Woody tells Jordan that he has been
placed on leave. Nigel says he can probably hack
into the system, but Garret thinks he can get the car
accident victims autopsy report at the DC coroners
office.
At the DC Morgue:
Garret gets the accident victims autopsy report,
personal effects, and tissue samples. They start
going through the information, not really seeing
anything out of order. Garret suggests it was
probably just an accident, but Jordan does not believe
that.
Boston Morgue: Nigel
and Woody are trying to find the connections between JD
Pollack, the bartender, Judge Gordon, and the accident
victim Dwayne McKenzie. Nigel points out they need
to hurry because Lu is out for blood...both Woody's and
Jordan's. Woody goes back to the board and brings
up that a lot of it was about money because people were
being paid off to cover something up. They find a
connection that Dwayne worked for a coal company called
Terracoal. There was a mine disaster recently, and
Nigel and Woody think he might have known something
about it, and that was why he was being paid off.
Back in DC, Garret
and Jordan are still going through the information.
Nigel and Woody relay the information they found out
about Dwayne McKenzie and how he worked for Terracoal.
There was a big mine accident, and Dwayne had the day
off. He came back to help rescue his friends.
There was a TV interview with Dwayne, and also the
Terracoal operations manager Ted Hawthorne. Woody
informs them all that Dwayne died 29 days in DC where
the Terracoal's head office happens to be located.
Lily is in the
break room waiting for the coffee to be ready and Dr.
Switzer comes in. She is not sure what Lily's job
is and she asks her if she is Dr. Macy's secretary.
Lily says no and informs her that she is the grief
counselor. Dr. Switzer comments how she thought
the grief counselor was on her honeymoon, but Lily
assures her that she is not. Dr. Switzer asks Lily
where Dr. Macy is and Lily tells her she doesn't know.
She also asks Lily that if she is not his secretary then
what was she doing getting the his files for him.
Lily just said it was because he asked her to...nothing
more. Dr. Switzer starts to leave the break room
with her coffee and hands Lily the pen camera and tells
her that she left it in the autopsy room. Lily is
shocked. Bug comes in the room and asks Lily if
everything is ok, and she hands him the pen camera.
In the computer lab
Nigel is yelling at his computer because files of
evidence are being deleted. They are on speaker
phone with Garret and Jordan. Woody is yelling at
Nigel to make it stop deleting. Dr. Switzer comes
in and says that it looks like he has a virus on his
computer. Garret asks them what is going on, but
Nigel tells them they will call them back.
Dr. Switzer informs Nigel and Woody that next time they
want to steal confidential information on a case they've
been bared from and leaking it to their fugitive friend
and awol boss to use a firewall....or just don't do it
at all. Dr. Switzer starts yelling at them about
all the laws they have broken and Lily and Bug are
looking in. Bug tells Lily that they are all going
to get fired and go to jail. Lily drags Bug to the
autopsy room tells him to get the trace off the
bartenders body. He tries but Dr. Switzer has
already washed him off. But then they find the
track already logged. They think it was all sent
to the crime lab, but they find Dr. Switzer has made
more than one log and samples.
Jordan and Garret are
still going over Dwayne's autopsy to try and figure out
how it was not an accident. They find that his
lungs are heavy...too heavy for someone his age.
They figure that something must have been wrong with the
mine. Garret is looking at the lung tissue and
notices polyurethane foam. It is used to seal off
mine tunnels. It is not safe, but a lot cheaper
than concrete. It had been outlawed because they
found that it would collapse in an explosion. But
this proves that the Terracoal company was using it
illegally. The figure that Dwayne was in DC to
confront the Terracoal company about what he knew, and
therefore he was run off the road to keep him quiet.
Back in Boston Nigel
and Woody are listening in on Dr. Switzer on the phone
reporting their hacking into her computer. Nigel
makes the comment that he does not think he will do well
in prison. Woody tells him that he is probably
getting fired, and that he is the one going to prison.
Woody asks Nigel if he can reprocess the trace from the
alley, but Nigel says there probably is not time
considering they will be going to jail.
Garret comes back
into the DC morgue relaying some information to Jordan.
Jordan tells Garret that it's a conspiracy, and that
Pollack stumbled onto it while he was investigating the
Judge. His story would have exposed it all and
destroyed Terracoal. Jordan comes across
Dwayne's cell phone records and dials one of the
numbers. It is to Ted Hawthorne, the operations
manager at Terracoal. Jordan figured it
out....that Ted Hawthorne was to blame for the accident
in the mine, and Terracoal helped him cover it up by
killing JD and the bartender.
Bug and Lily bring in
all the track and samples from the bartender.
Woody is confused because he thought Lu picked it all
up. Bug informed him that Dr. Switzer took double
samples. So they start testing all the samples
against Jordan's blood to see if something matches.
After going through a bunch of samples, finally one is a
positive match. Nigel gives Bug a kiss on the
forehead, and Woody is pretty happy they found
something. This just proves that whatever was on
the bartender was also in Jordan's blood...he still
needs to analyze the swab to find out exactly what the
drug is. Woody notices that Lu is at the
morgue and tells Nigel to come with him, and that Bug
should keep working. They go out to greet Lu and
she places both of them under arrest.
Back in the police
department Lu is yelling at Woody on why he is being
arrested. Woody defends what he did, and Nigel
assures Lu that Jordan could never kill anyone. Lu
informs them that they all saw the surveillance tape where
Jordan and JD were fighting. She assumes they
continued the fight in the hotel room. They all
look into the mirror in the interrogation room and watch
the scenario pan out.
Lu's Scenario: JD and
Jordan are fighting in the hotel room. Jordan
picks up the gun and fires at JD. The first shot
was a warning...or she missed, hitting the mirror.
The second shot she hit him in the back.
Woody does not think
Lu's scenario fits, so he give his take on what he
thought happened.
Woody's Scenario:
Jordan was drugged, and probably unconscious. Lu
argues that the drug could have made her violent.
But Woody disagrees. Him and Nigel say that
someone wanted Pollack dead because of a story he was
about to write. So the shooter confronted Pollack
in the hotel room. Pollack wouldn't drop the
article, so the guy shot him. Lu is still
skeptical because Jordan had fired the gun...they knew
that because of the gun shot residue on her hand.
But Nigel says that she was set up and that the shooter
put the gun in her hand and fired a shot into the
mirror so that the gun shot residue was on her hand.
Bug now enters the
room and says and puts his two cents in. He has
identified the drug that was in Jordan's blood. He
notes that it starts taking effect lest than an hour
after ingested. Lu then points out that Jordan
still had time to shoot Pollack, but Bug informs her
that a major side effect of this drug is it makes you
throw up. Nigel points out that if Jordan "tossed
her cookies" anywhere near the bed they would have found
it. That is when Bug points out that she wasn't
there.
Bug's Scenario:
Jordan is getting sick in the hotel bathroom and JD is
there to comfort her. JD is giving Jordan a hard
time about not being able to hold her liquor and gets up
to get her a class of water. While in the main
room Jordan hears voices but passes out in the bathroom.
JD is arguing with someone in the other room and is
shot. Lu questions how Jordan ended up on the
bed...but they determine the killer must have picked her
up and carried her there.
They now all know
that they need to search the bathroom for clues.
Nigel, Woody, and Bug are getting trace from the
bathroom and they find something that came off the
killers shoes. It turns out to be coal. They
now compare those findings with what they found at the
bartenders crime scene and it is a match to where they
calculated the shooter stood. They also find
traces of sweat, so they are going to analyze it against
all the employees at TerraCoal.
Back at the DC morgue
Garret returns with some more information to share with
Jordan, but when he looks up
he finds that she is not there. We now go the
TerraCoal Headquarters, where Jordan is sitting outside in
her truck waiting. She pulls out a picture of the
TV interview with Dwayne McKenzie and Ted Hawthorne.
She is waiting for Hawthorne. While waiting she
has a flashback of her and JD dancing at Lily's
wedding...then a flashback of JD lying dead on the hotel
bed. She is brought back into reality when she
hears a car being unlocked. She sees Hawthorne in
her rearview mirror walking to his car. She gets
out of her truck.
Act Four:
Jordan walks from her truck to where Hawthorne is
approaching his car. She accuses him of cutting
corners to save money and costing 19 men their lives.
She also accuses him of having three men killed to keep
it all quiet. She tells him she just wants him to
admit it. Hawthorne gets his phone and calls for
security, but Jordan cuts him off, showing him that she
has a gun. Hawthorne then starts to confess.
He tells Jordan that she doesn't understand the pressure
he was in. He admitted the mining accident was his
fault, and that his bosses helped cover it all up.
Once Dwayne says he was going to come forward he was to
do what ever was necessary to keep things quiet.
He is terrifies, and asks Jordan what she wants from
him. She replies "I want to kill you."
However, instead of shooting him, Jordan turns and
starts walking back toward her truck. She notices
police cars coming and thinks they are for her, but in
turn they are for Hawthorne. She watches as the
police handcuff Hawthorne, and Garret calls out to her.
He points out the fact that she had to do things her
way. He informs Jordan they have all the evidence
that puts Hawthorne at both crime scenes. He then
goes to give her a hug, even though Jordan tells him
it's ok. He tells her to just "go with it" because
while hugging her he takes the gun out of her purse.
Jordan then realizes what he did. The police then
do handcuff Jordan and take her in. Garret is
looking on supportively telling Jordan it is going to be
ok.
At the police station
Lu is getting screamed at by her Lieutenant. He is
telling her he has never seen such unprofessional
behavior, and if she ever does anything like this again
he will take her gun and badge and she will be the one
IAD investigates. Woody is in the hall overhearing
this because he is waiting to talk to the Lieutenant.
Lu leaves and Woody informs the Lieutenant that he is
there, but the Lieutenant slams the door in his face.
Woody then goes after Lu and asks her what that was all
about. She tells him that he is off the hook for
everything. He asks why, and she tells him it is
because she told the Lieutenant that she found the
evidence she had lost...and the reason she did that was
not for Woody, but because she was wrong about Jordan
and wanted to make things right. All charges
against Jordan (and Woody) have been dropped.
The final scene is
welcomed by Sarah McLachlan's "Dirty Little Secret".
Jordan and Garret are coming into the morgue, and the
rest of the gang is there to greet them. Jordan
gives Lily a hug, followed by a kiss and hug to Bug.
Nigel is there too and gets a big hug from Jordan.
Garret is looking on in support. In comes Woody
and Jordan turns toward him. Woody tells her she
looks pretty good for a girl who just got out of the
slammer. She thanks him for sticking his neck out
for her. There is a moments hesitation, but then
they both hug each other and you can see the relief in
Jordan's eyes. Jordan then leaves the group and
starts walking toward the crypt. She notices a
stranger walking toward her, but does not say anything.
It is Dr. Switzer. Garret asks why she is still
here because the case is closed. Dr. Switzer tells
him that she has been asked to stay...and she hand him a
sheet of paper.
Jordan enters the
crypt and unzips the body bag that Pollack is in.
She takes out the pictures of them she found in his
apartment in DC. She rips them in half and gives
him two, and keeps two. Then Garret is there to be
a shoulder for her to lean on. Jordan leans in
ready to cry, and Garret gently guides her out of the
room...Jordan's head on his shoulder.
