Play by Play Synopsis:

Teaser: Jordan is in autopsy examining a body that has been burnt.  Apparently the person grabbed a live power line.  Ivers tells Jordan that it is a sign out, but Jordan informs him that it is a sign out when she says it's a sign out.  Garret walks in as Jordan is telling this to Ivers and has a conversation with her about it in the hall way.  Jordan tells Garret he needs to get rid of him because he is driving everyone nuts.  Garret then tells her he is sending her to Maryville which is a 6 hour drive from Boston.  Jordan is not happy about having to drive all this way for an accidental drowning, but Garret says it is her punishment for not behaving herself in front of Ivers like he asked.

Lily and Jeffrey come out into the hallway talking about what they are thinking they want to do about their situation.  They both have been doing a lot of thinking and Jeffrey tells Lily that he thinks they should get married.  Lily looks uncertain about this.  Jordan is on her way out and is in the elevator as the doors are closing, but Lily stops her and tells her that she needs to get away from things and is going with her to Maryville...as soon as she goes to the bathroom.

Woody is pulling up to the police station and he has a guy in his back seat handcuffed and acting wild and crazy.  The guy is kicking and screaming on the ground and Woody can not get a hold of him.  Two officers standing outside the station start laughing at Woody.  Woody gets a hold of him and then they hear gunfire in the parking garage next door.  Woody throws the guy towards the door and tells him to admit himself.  Woody and the two officers head over to the parking garage.  Woody finds a guy on the ground who has been shot.  He then hears a noise and sees a guy walking in the garage.  He makes him drop his weapon and as he is trying to cuff him he learns that this guy is a cop.

Act One: Woody is checking the guys badge and gun and he determines the gun had not been fired, and that this guy really was a cop.  The guy introduces himself as detective Parnell from drug control.  Woody asks him what happened, but Parnell claims he just heard shots and responded.  He then gets up to leave, but Woody says he can't go.  Parnell says he has business and if Woody needs to get a hold of him he can call his office.  Kate arrives to take a look at the body.  Woody tells her he needs a full autopsy on this body ASAP, but Kate says she will do it tomorrow morning.  Woody pushes for her to do it that night, but Kate does not budge.

Jordan and Lily are driving the ME van and Jordan is sipping coffee.  Lily wishes she could have some, but knows she can't.  She then just starts crying for no reason.  Jordan looks concerned and tells her it is probably a combination of hormones, sadness, and frustration.  Lily then vents a little because she does not know what to do.  She does not want to marry Jeffrey.  Jordan thinks she should just tell Jeffrey that, but Lily is not so sure.  Jordan does her best to make Lily feel better.  Lily then tells Jordan that she has to go to the bathroom.  Jordan can not believe it, but she pulls over.

Kate and Nigel are in autopsy and there is classical music playing.  They are both going about their work, then Kate asks Nigel for more swabs.  Nigel can not hear her over the music which is playing quite loudly.  Kate then shouts that she needs more swabs.  Nigel calmly goes over and turns off the music and showing his frustration hands her the box with the swabs.  Woody then comes in wanting results.  Kate asks Woody if he has anything better to do that hang around the morgue waiting for results, but Woody fires back at her and informs him of all he has found out while she was getting her rest the night before.  Nigel tells him that the cause of death is a gun shot to the back of the head.  Woody tells them that he has found no evidence that the boy had any enemies.  Emmy then comes in and tells Kate that the Drew Marshall's (the boy) parents were there and since Lily was not there she was going to have to talk with the parents.  Woody makes a smart comment doubting Kate's abilities to deal with the parents.

Woody, Kate, and Mr. & Mrs. Marshall are in the conference room.  Mrs. Marshall is sharing pictures with Kate and explaining what happened the night Drew was killed.  Mrs. Marshall begins to cry, and Woody takes Mr. Marshall aside and asks him some questions about Drew.  It turns out he may have been hanging out with the wrong crowd the previous year, and had stopped seeing them about six months ago.  Mr. Marshall gave Woody some nick names to go off of, but that was all he could remember.  Mrs. Marshall is stricken with grief and asks Kate if she is sure it is he son.  Kate tells Mrs. Marshall she is sure, and is so sorry for her loss.  Kate gives Mrs. Marshall a hug, and Woody seems a little shocked by this.  Garret is seen observing this all outside the window, and as he walks down the hall he runs into Ivers and tells him the conference room is being used.  Ivers has a file in his hand and stops Garret to ask him a question about why the BPD lab and the morgue lab ran ballistics on a homicide case.  Ivers is confused on why both places did the test because it would save money just doing it once.  It questions Garret about the necessity of it, but Garret assures him both tests were necessary.  Woody, Kate, and Mr. & Mrs. Marshall come out of the conference room and Woody complements Kate on how great she was with the family.  Kate sees right through him and says that the surprise in his voice makes it an insult.  They both walk into the autopsy room where Nigel is on the computer.  He has news to share with Woody.  He begins to tell him the results of a fingerprint match and Kate looks upset.  The print turns out to be Parnell's, which is a lead because Parnell told Woody he did not know Drew Marshall.  Woody leaves, and Kate scolds Nigel for talking to Woody before talking to her.  Nigel defends himself saying that Woody is the investigating officer and he should have every right to share information directly with him.  Kate then repeats herself saying that he is never to release information on any of her cases without her permission.  Nigel is just about to lay in to her when Ivers walks in.  Nigel stays quiet...although it is hard.

Jordan and Lily pull up to the crime scene and meet up with Deputy Joe Whatley.  There is a body on the ground next to the river. Deputy Whatley tells them that some hunters found him.  They pull back the tarp and it turns out it is just a little person measuring about 4'6".  The Deputy does not know him.  Jordan notices the broken rope tied around his waist.  Deputy Whatley tells them that the rest of the rope is tied to a tree close to the river.  Jordan confirms that it is a drowning, and then Lily points out that she can smell hibiscus and it is starting to make her sick.  Jordan asks if she needs to sit down, but Lily says she is fine.  Jordan notices something in the victims hand and pulls out a ring attached to a chain.  It looks to be a pretty expensive ring.  Lily then walks over to Jordan and whispers in her ear that she needs to go to the bathroom...again.

At a rest stop Lily is using the bathroom and Jordan is in the back of the van with the body checking his fingerprints.  She notices his fingernails are a bluish color.  While grabbing a bite to eat at the rest stop Jordan checks with Bug if there is any match on the print, but the body is a John Doe.  Jordan then sits next to Lily at the table and tells her what she thinks she should do about her situation with Jeffrey and the baby.  She tells Lily that she knows she is scares, but that she is not alone.  She just needs to worry about taking care of herself and the baby.  Lily smiles, and then the smile changes to a disgusted look.  She is smelling hibiscus again...but Jordan thinks she is imagining it.  The get up to leave and Lily notices that the back doors to the van are open and she asks Jordan if she left them open.  Jordan says no and they both go running to the truck.  When they get there they discover that the body has been stolen.

Act Two: Woody meets up with Parnell and confronts that he knows he knows Drew Marshall.  Parnell says he has nothing to say because he is on a case that is at a delicate stage.  He says he does not know who killed him.  According to Parnell, Drew Marshall was on drugs.

In autopsy with classical music blaring, Kate is closing on Drew Marshall.  Nigel comes into the room with headphones on so he does not have to listen to the loud music.  Kate can not believe that everyone is being so dramatic about her music.  She turns it off.  Nigel gives her results of what was under Drew Marshall's fingernails, and it is nothing incriminating.  He offers to move on to ballistics on the bullet, but Kate informs him that she already sent it to BPD.  Nigel asks why and Kate tells him it was because he was busy doing something else.  Nigel claims that they do it faster in the morgue, but just at that moment the computer beeps and there are results from the police department about the bullet.  Kate does not think it is anything that can help them.  Nigel on the other hand digs a little deeper and finds that the bullet is from a gun that was involved in a robbery.  He has found the guns owner and thinks Kate should tell Woody.  She doesn't care and asks Nigel to finish closing for her while she moves on to another patient with a stab wound.  Nigel takes out his phone and calls Woody with the information he has found, without telling Kate.

Jordan and Lily are back in the van and Jordan is speeding down the road.  Lily reminds her that there are three of them in the car and asks her to slow down.  Jordan tells Lily to call the Deputy again, but Lily claims she has already left two messages and that the guy is out fishing all day.  Lily asks if Jordan has ever had a body stolen before and Jordan answers with a calming yes.  But claims it always crazy people responsible for it.  Lily then tells Jordan that she is smelling hibiscus again, which Jordan does not really care.  But Lily points out that every time she smells it usually means it has something to do with this case.  Jordan just goes with it and follows Lily's nose.  Jordan turns the van around and they take a road down into the woods.  The scent is stronger than ever for Lily and she can not believe Jordan can not smell it.  They stop and spot a pick-up truck.  Jordan tells Lily to stay in the van and that if anything happens for her to get the heck out of there.  Lily says there is no way she is just gonna let Jordan go alone, but Jordan reminds her that she is carrying a baby and gets out of the van and heads to the truck.  Lily thinks for a moment, but then gets out of the van and follows Jordan.  They approach the truck and Jordan picks up a rock just in case.  The back of the truck is filled with hibiscus flowers, and when Jordan opens the front door they see that no one is inside.  There is, however, a booster seat and the peddles have been altered so that a shorter person could drive the truck.  Lily starts laughing and Jordan gives her a dirty look.  Lily apologizes.  Jordan then tells Lily to go and get some help and she will stay with the truck.  Lily says there is no way she is going to leave Jordan her with a bunch of crazy little people running around....and then she starts laughing again.  All of the sudden they both hear a noise behind them and it is their stolen body bungee jumping over a bridge.  They are both shocked at what they are seeing.

Woody is sitting in his car waiting for his new suspect to come out so he can follow him.  The suspect finally comes out and Woody gets out of his car to follow him.  He is just about to approach him when he is grabbed and drug into an ally.  He is thrown against the wall and handcuffed, and when he turns around he sees it is Parnell.  Woody threatens Parnell and says he is not going to get away with it.  Parnell makes a phone call and informs the person on the other line that they have a problem.

Act Three: Woody is sitting in the back of Parnell's car with the handcuffs still on, and Parnell is sitting in the front with the door open waiting for someone.  Jeffrey shows up and gets in the passenger car.  Woody tells him he has three seconds to explain things before he head butts him.  Jeffrey tells Parnell to un-cuff him, but Parnell says no.  Jeffrey then starts to explain that Woody's suspect is going to lead Parnell and himself to a drug bust that night.  They want Woody to hold off questioning this guy until they pick him up that night at the drug bust.  The suspects name is Jesse Brennen and there is no way Parnell is going to let Woody ruin all his hard work tracking him down.  Woody says that Brennen is his after the bust, and Jeffrey confirms that is fine.  Woody just needs to back off and do things their way.  Woody agrees and tells Parnell to get the cuffs off.  Parnell turns around and jokes with Woody that he lost the key.  Woody is not in a joking mood and head butts Parnell.  By this time Jeffrey is out of the car and tells Parnell he was just asking for it.

Jordan and Lily are at the top of the bridge trying to pull up the body.  They have it pretty much to the top when their van drives by.  They can just let the body go, so Jordan tells Lily to call it in.  Lily informs her that she left her cell phone in the van.  Jordan tells Lily to use hers, but when Lily grabs it out of Jordan's pocket she drops it over the bridge and into the water.  Jordan is pissed, not at Lily, but at the situation.  They somehow get the body down to the pick-up truck and put it in the back.  Jordan hotwires the truck and attempts to drive the truck with the shortened peddles.  It is a challenge for her, but she manages.  She is driving like a madwoman and Lily asks her to slow down, but Jordan does not listen.  They find the van in front of them and Jordan does some fancy driving and cuts the driver off and gets them to pull over.  She tells Lily to stay in the truck and she gets out, grabs a crowbar and heads for the van.  She opens the drivers door and there is a young woman there.  She says her name is Geneva Todd, and then passes out on the steering wheel.

Back at the morgue Ivers is still going through files, questioning the reasoning for some of the tests.  Garret insists that all the tests were necessary...that it helps them identify murderers.  Ivers claims they could do that on a cheaper machine.

Jordan and Lily are at the van and Geneva is still lying on the steering wheel.  Lily tells Jordan she should do something because she is a doctor, but Jordan thinks she is faking and tells Geneva they can wait her out.  Jordan is right and Geneva opens her eyes and sits up.  Jordan has her give her the cell phone and the van keys and has her stay in the van.  Then she asks for Geneva to explain what is going on.  Geneva claims that the man is her father, Samuel Todd.  Lily can not believe that someone would treat their own father that way.  Geneva then gets defensive and and tells them that people thought her father was a joke because of his size.  Jordan asks about the bungee jumping, and Geneva pulls out a piece of paper from her pocket.  It is a list of things he wanted to do before he died.  Geneva thought she would help fulfill some of his wishes even after he died because she believed the soul was still in the body.  Jordan then notices that one of the items on the list is "return engagement ring".  She asks Geneva about it and she claims that all she knows is he wanted it returned to the person at the address on the list.  Jordan is not really buying the story, but Geneva sticks to it.  She tells Jordan and Lily she wants to complete the list for him.

Woody come's in and starts venting to Nigel about Parnell.  Nigel has some news to share with him, but he lets Woody continue on his rant.  Once Woody is done Nigel informs him that Drew Marshall was not a druggie.  The tox screen came back negative for drugs.  However, in looking at Drew Marshall's hair he did notice that until six months ago he was using marijuana.  Woody then thinks back to when Mr. Marshall was telling him about Drew getting in with the wrong crowd last year.  And also remembers Jeffrey had talked up Parnell saying he had developed some incredible sources.  He is starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Lily is driving the van very slowly with a bunch of cars following her.  Jordan and Geneva are in the back of the van with the body.  Jordan is telling Geneva that she feels a little bit bad for having to turn her in.  But she has to partly because she contaminated evidence when she touched the body.  Jordan wants to know where he got the black eye and they turn to the list and it says "insult a bigget."  Jordan then asks how he got in the river.  Geneva points her attention to number four on the list which says "learn to swim."  Jordan asks where Geneva was when all this happened.  She said they were out there to camp by the river.  She went to the store to pick up something and when she got back the police were there.  Jordan tells her about the rope tied around his waist and it looks like he tried to learn how to swim on his own.  Jordan's phone rings and it is Bug.  He tells Jordan that he got an ID on the man and it turns out his name is Harry Fleck.  He is a con man and scam artist who was wanted in five states.  Apparently he traveled with a young woman fitting Geneva's description.  Jordan thanks Bug and hangs up the phone.

Woody approaches Parnell at the police station and asks him if Drew Marshall was his snitch.  It turns out Woody as it all figured out and he is pissed.  When all things are said and done it was Parnell's fault Drew Marshall was killed.  Woody and Parnell start shoving each other in the hallway and Jeffrey comes out to break it up.  Woody tells Jeffrey what is going on and that Drew Marshall was underage for being a snitch.  Parnell never denies it, but also never admits it.  He gets ready to leave because of the drug bust, but Jeffrey stops him because there hitch in the situation.  Apparently Jesse Brennen killed someone else.  Woody says he can not hold off until the drug bust...he is bringing in Jesse Brennen now.  Jeffrey then informs Woody that the cops do not know where Brennen is.

Act Four: Woody and Parnell bring the body to the morgue and Kate is assigned to the case.  Woody wants her to tell them where the guy who killed him is.  Kate tells him that he thinks forensics can do more than she thinks it can.  Parnell and Woody start going at it again, and Kate yells at them.  Woody asks him what he is still doing there because his case is over and he does not know where the drug bust is going to be.  Parnell starts yelling and Garret comes in and shoves Woody away from Parnell.  Garret asks what is going on and Woody tells him that Kate thinks this body can not help him find the killer.  Kate defends herself by saying that forensic science has limits...Garret cuts her off and says he will take over the case and do it himself.  Kate thanks him and walks out of the room.

Geneva, or whatever her name is, and Jordan are still riding in the back of the van and Jordan is just listening to her go on and on about her "Dad" even though she knows it is a lie.  She finally tells her to just stop and just tell her the truth.  She informs her that she knows his name and that he was a con with her help.  The girl starts tearing up and asks Jordan if she wants to hear the real story.  Jordan nods and the girl begins to tell the truth.  Harry is her boyfriend.  She said they were very happy and she wanted them to settle down in a house someplace where they could plant flowers.  But Harry always wanted to do just one more con or one more scam.  Finally they did take a break from that and Harry made his list and started completing his tasks on the list.  She starts yelling at Harry, and then turns to Jordan and tells her she wants to know who he was going to give that ring to.  She also tells Jordan that she is pregnant and that Harry didn't know.  She starts yelling at Harry again for getting in the water when she was gone and puts her head down and cries.  Jordan takes her arm to console her and she tells Jordan that her name is Ruby.  Jordan asks her if Harry was ever a smoker.  He had been a smoker until about a year before, and it turns out the bluish color on his fingertips was a sign of lung cancer.  He wanted to live like he was dying because he really was dying.  The van stops and Jordan apologizes again that she is turning her in.  Lily opens the back of the van and they all get out, but they are not at the police station.  Lily has taken them to the address on the list where the ring was suppose to be delivered.  She wanted Ruby to be able to complete the list.  Ruby starts running to the house because she wants to know who the other woman is.  Jordan goes chasing after her and tells her she can not just barge into someone's house.  Ruby gets away and opens the front door.  There is a room full of hibiscus flowers and a large sign that says "I love you Ruby, Will you marry me?"  They all stand at the door surprised and Ruby looks happy and relieved.

Woody and Parnell are waiting as Nigel and Garret go over trace on the body.  They are talking in very scientific terms and Parnell jokes with Woody about if they always talk like that.  Garret and Nigel narrow down the areas the killer could be to two local areas.  Woody goes to ask Parnell a question, but he is gone.  Woody picks one of the areas to search and tells the guys to call him if they find anything more specific.  Woody is in his car and on the phone with Nigel.  He is in the right place and is trying get more information about exactly where the killer Brennen might be.  Woody comes across Parnell's car and goes in to investigate.  He hears a gun shot and then a man yelling "don't shoot, don't shoot."  The he hears another gun shot.  He runs inside and finds Parnell standing with a gun over a Brennen who has been shot dead.  Parnell points to the van and informs Woody he has found the drugs.

Act Five Jordan, Lily, and Ruby are outside the house waiting for the cops.  Lily is talking to Ruby shortly, and then comes to talk to Jordan.  Lily asks Jordan if they really have to turn her in because she has lost everything.  Jordan tells her that the authorities will probably go easy on her.  Lily asks Jordan to give her a chance, and to give her baby a chance.  The police arrive and Lily tells Jordan to just do the right thing.  Ruby tells Jordan that whatever she does is ok.  She is fine now because she knows that Harry really did only love her.  Jordan is left thinking about what she should do.

Lily is back at the morgue and she runs into Bug.  Bug asks about the case and Lily says they never found the person responsible.  She then asks Bug if they can just talk tomorrow because she is tired and has some things to do.

Woody and Parnell are in the hallway at the precinct and Woody tells Parnell he didn't need to shoot him.  Parnell said he had no choice, but Woody tells him he heard Brennen yell "don't shoot."  Parnell claims that was after Brennen shot at him, and was about to fire again.  Jeffrey then comes out and congratulates Parnell on the drug bust.  Woody just looks on.  Jeffrey tells them he thinks it was a legal shoot, but Woody just stands there not really believing that.  Parnell just takes off and Jeffrey tells Woody that he knows Parnell can be a bit pushy, but that he is a hell of a cop.  Lily then comes and interrupts them and asks if she could talk to Jeffrey.  Woody leaves to give them privacy.  Lily says she would do anything for their child, but she does not want to get married.  She thinks it would be a mistake.

Jordan is in the crypt with Harry and Garret comes in asking about her case.  She says it was just an accidental drowning.  Ivers then comes in and tells them that he is ready to write his report.  He also tells them that there is no evidence of any corruption or malfeasance.  However, what he did find was serious mismanaging of finances.  So starting right away Garret is to implement cost effective forensics.  A case that requires a full autopsy they can do, if it does not require a full autopsy then don't do one.  Jordan then chimes in and says they do not do autopsies for the hell of it.  Ivers then tells her it is not her job to get justice.  Garret asks what exactly he needs to do.  Ivers informs him that much of his equipment will be replaced with less expensive versions of the same thing.  He also mentions the amount of overtime the workers claim.  Garret points out they don't claim it, they work it.  Ivers then threatens Garret and says that it is just a matter of time before he screws up so badly that he puts the DA's office at risk.  Ivers leaves and Jordan and Garret are left in the crypt to process what he said.
