Dr.
Nigel Townsend is a quirky British
criminologist/forensics expert and ex British soldier who
grew up in London. He enjoys skiing, photography,
motorcycles, fashion design and attractive women. Nigel
often bends over backwards to help Jordan solve a case. If
Jordan ever gave him the ‘green light’ he’d be asking her
out. He’s smitten with Jordan. He realizes though that
he’ll never have her so he’s content to be her friend.
While he
is unorthodox in his approach to his work there is something
amusing and charming about him. He’s well liked by the
entire staff.
Nigel was
nearly deported and planned a scam marriage to Lily to be
saved from the INS. The marriage never happened though
because Garret stepped in and helped Nigel out.
Nigel’s
off-beat sense of humor can sometimes offend as often as it
can charm.
Nigel claims to have spent a good many years mad at
his father and not on speaking terms. Though he’s
rectified that situation and is sorry for the years he’s
missed with his father. He’s communicating
with him again (learned in Murder in the Morgue Rue).
However in
Thin Ice Nigel contradicts himself. He says that he
regrets not trying to work things out with his father.
He learns from his brother that his father has remarried
and recently had a son with his second wife.
Nigel’s mother was sick (cancer) and died a few
days after Elvis Presley died. She was a huge fan of
his.
