Dr. Mahesh "Bug" Vijayaraghavensatyanaryanamurthy is an Eastern Indian entomologist who attended school in England (Oxford) and earned the nickname "Bug" for his love of insects.  In 2003 (season 2) Bug became an American citizen.

Bug’s squeaky clean.  No skeletons in his closet.  He always sees the glass as half empty verses Nigel who sees it as half full.  All the random and obscure facts that Nigel doesn’t know Bug does.  The two of them have an IQ that’s off the charts.  Bug is a pessimistic however.  Nigel is very much the optimistic type.

Bug always says there’s nothing he can do to help the ‘bodies’ cause they’re already dead when they get to him—some days he lets that get to him.

He’s a nice guy, who wants to find a nice woman to love and marry and have children/a family with.  Bug was once asked why he wanted to be a doctor—he said he wanted to be a children’s doctor…but kids hated him so he ended up in the morgue.

Bug has a fondness for Lily.  He asked her out once, but Lily turn him down.  He’s still got feeling for Lily but he doesn’t act on them.

Bug’s father was a scientist before he moved to the United States.  When he got here he worked two minimum paid jobs to support his family—all so he could give his children a better opportunity in life. (this story about his parents contradict other facts we know about him)

Bug had a younger brother.  He died when Bug was young.  Bug was supposed to be watching him but he slipped outside.  He got hit by a car.

Bug’s allergic to chocolate.
