Snowing in
Boston, opening scene.
Jordan
in parka enters morgue. JD meets
Jordan at the reception
counter and they start walking towards her office. JD
wants to talk to
Jordan about
something.
Jordan
wants to talk to JD too. JD sounds much more serious
than
Jordan though. Walk
into office, Woody is there. Woody says they’re off to
an inn in
Littleton. Woody looks at JD and
smiles and asks: “How about it Pollack, think there’s a
story there? Wanna come, we can make it a three some,
figuratively speaking…” Pollack says no thanks then
kisses Jordan
in front of Woody and says I love you to
Jordan.
Arrive at the inn. Sheriff Carell – Davy meets Jordan
and Woody on steps. Newly wed couple comes up to Jordan
and Woody and says “You’re going to love it here. This
place is so gory.” Morton, the caretaker comes up to
them. Starts spouting about his glass eyes and 6 toes,
between both feet. (he’s blind)
Woody wants to know, whispering to
Jordan, if it’s just
him of if this place is just odd.
Davy
removes a screen and there’s a scene of dead people then
he explains that that’s just a scene. (Wax figures)
Then he points to the side and says that’s your real
body. There’s a young man on the floor with a big head
wound.
Act One:
Jordan
is studying the body and the sheriff is wildly taking
pictures. He’s a naïve small town sheriff excited to be
in on a murder case. Guests explains the fake bodies
are a replica of a crime committed years ago.
Lady, caretaker of the end, Francis, comes in and tells
the story of the ‘dead bodies scene’.
Jordan
asks about Mr. Rivers the dead body. Francis says he
helped her in the kitchen. Woody wants to know why
these people are here—referring to the crazy guest.
Francis says people like ghosts.
Lily
comes in, dressed up. Lily says she and Jeffery are
going to the Opera. Bug – the opera? Gives an upset
look. He’s not pleased to her this news. You can tell
he’s jealous.
Bug
says body before them was stabbed in the back of the
next and was found in the Charles. Lady comes in
looking for her husband. It’s the dead man on the
autopsy table. Mrs. Alveraz is illegal alien. She says
there was a man who thought he could help them get the
needed identification to bring a family member – her son
- to the
US.
At
inn: Jordan and Woody are interviewing the guests.
They’re all morbid or crazy people. The answers they
give are funny, sick and strange…They all say they
didn’t kill him though. Woody’s frustrated.
Morton (the blind guy) was missing from the
interrogations. Woody goes searching for him. They’re
out in a barn. Francis explains that Morton believes
Lucy (the ghost) is still alive. Morton found the body,
and has no alibi and now he can’t be found – Woody’s
suspicious.
Precinct: Seely meets Mr. Raley – the bank manager who
the dead husband was supposed to meet with. Raley says
he doesn’t recognize the guy. Seely says he wants to
look at the tapes. The manager says freak accident the
guy in charge of tapes forgot to change them and got
taped over.
Inn:
Jordan with sheriff.
They’re tracing the blood trail trying to find out where
body (Mr. Rivers) came from. The newly weds are back to
taking pictures.
Jordan
walks into a room and there’s another crime scene laid
out. Only it is also the murder scene – real blood and
fake blood. All Mr. Rivers stuff is missing. Woody
says someone doesn’t want them to know who Mr. Rivers
was.
Jordan
calls Nigel, but is interrupted by a scream.
Everyone goes rushing out side and there’s Morton dead.
The
Creepy boy and mom comes up. The boy wants to know if
he can tough the body.
Jordan says NO.
Woody comes in,
Jordan says someone
didn’t want us talking to Morton.
Sheriff comes in and announces that Woody and Jordan are
snowed in. Lady comes up and says I guess you guys will
be spending the night. We only have one room
available. I hope that’s not a problem. Look passed
between the two.
Act Two:
At morgue, Bug autopsying the body. Lily comes in.
Dead body has defense wounds. Time of death is around
noon. Bug can’t figure out how he/bank manager got the
body out of the bank if he killed him at noon.
Bug
at computer. Lily leaning over shoulder. Bug starts to
say Lily’s perfume… Then Jeffery enters. Jeffery comes
into offer his support.
However Jeffery is a little skeptical: Jeffery says “if
he did it”. Jeffery says Mrs. Alverez has to answer
some questions, cause her story has holds. Lily says if
you do she’ll get deported. Jeffery says it’s just
business, the law. Lily gets really angry and says
maybe we shouldn’t go to opera. Then walks out. All
this with Bug looking on.
Inn:
Woody and Jordan looking at bed. What should we do…
they agree they can share. “It’s not like they’re
getting naked.”
Jordan
gets in bed. And Woody says! Woo what are you doing.
Left side is my side of bed.
Jordan’s like fine I’ll
move. She asks “Do you really have a side of the bed?”
They discuss this.
Next
thing they know their newly wed neighbors start going at
it! Woody and Jordan look at each other and laugh.
Woody asks how things are with her and Pollack.
MORGUE: Nigel comes into
Jordan’s office. JD is
there. Nigel explains that they’re snowed in and won’t
be back. JD’s like great they’re together for the
night. Then JD asks Nigel about
Jordan.
INN:
Jordan starts to talk to Woody about JD. She says
things have moved too fast. It’s been nice… She
needed this, something normal...
MORGUE: Nigel answers JD question by saying it’s about
what JD thinks, not what he thinks about them.
INN:
Jordan answers Woody
question about how things are with her and JD. She says
he’s smart, funny…
MORGUE: JD describes
Jordan. She’s
infuriating, makes him laugh, ‘sex is great’… Nigel
says “Woa too much information."
INN: Jordan-
"I don’t know..."
MORGUE: Nigel- "HOW do you feel?" He asks JD again.
INN: Woody looks at Jordan surprised as she asks him
what he thinks? – "You're asking for my opinion."
Jordan:
Yeah.
Woody:
Lets
faces it last few months have been weird. A bit
strained. Jordan agrees. Then Woody says "I think you already know what you want
Jordan. You always
know deep down."
Jordan
agrees with him.
MORGUE: Nigel explains his view of love to JD. "If you can’t image your life without that
someone in it, then you’ll know."
INN: Jordan and Woody sleeping.
They wake up, their
neighbors are at it again. Then they realize it wasn’t
‘that kind of scream'. Someone is out in the tent
where Morton is being kept.
Woody heads out with
Jordan.
Walk
in the newlywed couple have Morton’s glass eye in their
hand.
Act Three:
Woody shuffles them all into the house. Woody questions
them. The couple explains what they were doing…
They were just interested in getting photographs with
the body and they found Morton's eye in the snow.
They didn't remove it from him - so they say.
Jordan’s
phone rings. It’s Nigel. James Rivers (the
first dead body) doesn’t exist. He was under an
Alias. He was born in
Littleton. He’s returned to his
home? Why?
PRECINCT: Jeffery is questioning the widowed wife.
She explains how she her husband went to the bank to get cards, SSN and such
and for them they had to pay the bank manager
$5000. They didn't have the money so he was going
to take 25% of what they put into their account until
they did pay him.
Bug
enters, says he found evidence - a lavidity mark on the
body. Lily, Jeffery and Bug
all talking. They’re arguing with Jeffery.
Cause Jeffery is still claiming that this is all wrong,
cause Mrs. Alverez is here illegally.
INN:
Woody escorting the couple into Sheriff’s car.
They drive away and somewhere along the snow roads the car
stalls.
AT
THE BANK: Bug and Seely examining the room. Bug says nothing in here
(the safety deposit room) that matches lavidity
mark. There’s a picture that’s cracked though.
They think that maybe there was a fight and the bank
manager shoved Mr. Alverez into the picture. The
picture fell and when he was pushed again he fell into
the hook the the picture had been on, explaining the odd
head wound.
Bank
manager comes in and Bug gets mad at him and pushes
him. Seely holds him back. (Bug gets quite
emotional)
INN:
Jordan is going over
the body. Francis (the caretaker of the inn) is talking with
Jordan.
Jordan
says doesn’t make sense. The eye wound wasn’t cause of
death. She finds a flask, has cyanide in it.
Jordan remembers Davy giving
Morton the flask. He’s with Woody alone, with a car
that’s stalled.
We flash to Woody leaning over the car
hood. The Sheriff is behind Woody has a shot gun
in his hand. And is pointing it at Woody’s head. The
sheriff shots scaring everyone to death. Davy says
it’s ok. There was a wolf over there. He was
shooting at
it. Gun shot must have scared him off.
Woody tells Davy to
warn him next time! Then explains that the
radiator hose is busted, maybe
even cut. Davy: Who would
have done that.
Jordan
comes in. Her car won’t start. Wants to use a phone.
Dials then hangs up. She stares at the reenacted scene
and the actual photo they have on display of the
original crime.
At
Morgue: Bug can’t figure out where the manager kept the body.
Lily comes up and looks at the plan Bug is staring at. Lily
says that’s a big room. Bug says you are so
brilliant
and I’m so stupid. The actual room he and Seely
were in was less than half the size
of what’s shown on the blue print.
Snow
covered road: Repair trunk shows up. Woody asks
Alice (the repairwoman) if
she knows a James Laramy (the first dead body).
Alice explains how there's a Bill Leramy
and he left his bride at alter. Whole town showed up
except the groom. The bride was Francis (Inn
owner).
Inn:
Jordan’s phone rings
and she answers it: "Woody", and it’s JD. JD isn't
too happy to hear that. She starts
talking to him, while at the same time looking over the fake crime scene then stops
suddenly and says I can’t talk I’ll call you back and
hangs up on him.
Jordan
finds a hidden room. A gun is calked and
Jordan turns around.
“You found Bill. I couldn’t let him leave me.”
It's
the lady (inn owner/caretaker).
Act Four:
Owner bringing
Jordan out to the
barn. They’re talking. She says she never thought
she’d be living this way. Thought they’d be married and
living on a farm raising kids. She said there’s one
person for everyone. And Bill was hers. She
killed him cause she wasn’t going to let him leave.
She says she’s framed the sheriff, so everyone will
think it’s him and she'll walk scot free.
Woody runs into the house shouting for
Jordan. Woody yells
distracting Francis for a brief second.
Jordan takes advantage and
wrestles the gun from Francis, knocking the gun out of her
hand. Woody enters. "Are you ok?" Jordan and
Woody exchange a look: "Yes."
Bank: Seely and Bug show up at the bank to search
again. Bug says there is a vault also attached to the
safety deposit box room…. There was a key pad to enter
and Raley punched in his code at Noon and then again
that night and the lavidity mark on the body makes the
vault - the crime scene. Seely arrests the bank
manager.
At
morgue: Bug
and Lily talking. Bug says he got enough evidence so there won’t
be a trial. Lily hugs him, so happy. Then
Jeffery enters. He's brought by the info for a green card
for Mrs. Alverez and her son. Lily’s so happy she throws arms
around him and kisses him. Much to the shock of
Jeffery, Lily and Bug. None of them were quite
expecting that reaction.
Nigel walks into
Jordan’s office. JD
is still
there. Nigel sees a ring box. It’s an engagement
ring. JD says he wants
Jordan
in his life. JD asks Nigel what he thinks his chances
are. You can tell he’s worried. He loves
Jordan, but he doesn’t
know if she really loves him. Nigel looks at him
with sad eyes.
At
Inn: Jordan
comes into the Inn
room. With food--junk food from the inn store.
Woody: It’s nice to be us again. Past all that.
Jordan:
The fighting, anger…
Woody: It is good.
They give each other a hug. The hug leads to a kiss and
more kisses. They lay down together…and the lights go
out...
