The Jordan-Woody History

The Dance Analysis Season 4

The Dance Analysis Season 5

Jordan and Woody first meet in the episode Wrong Place Wrong Time.  Woody is an eager participate—cooperating with the ME’s office.  This isn’t something Jordan’s used to and she takes to Woody.

Jordan and Woody hook up again in Acts of Mercy—you can see the sparks—there is definitely chemistry between those two.  They have a few more episodes together and the sparks continue to grow.  In Secrets and Lies (the season one finale) Woody gets concerned over Jordan’s behavior and starts looking out for her.  He tries to stop her from going after a ‘bad guy’ then he tries to go with her but she won’t let him.

In There's No Place Like Home (the start of the second season) Woody empties his bank account to bail Jordan out of jail and bring her back to Boston.  He shots a guy who’s trying to kill her.

In Payback the story line talked about their friendship. Walcott pulled Jordan off of the case because she was "too close" to Hoyt.  Jordan told her to stuff it.  At the end Max tells Woody that he should listen to the little voice in his head telling him to stay away from Jordan, but in the same scene she asks him to dance—and he goes willingly.

They kissed in LA (Don't Look Back) and decided that one or both of them would get hurt if they started something. So after one for the road they went back to being "just friends".  A few episodes later (Strangled) they talked about the kiss again.  And the episode ended with them slow dancing.

Sunset Division had Woody contemplating leaving Boston. Jordan flies out to LA to make sure he comes back home. At a pier by the water Woody talks to Jordan on the phone about not knowing where home is. Jordan tells him to turn around "Because home is right behind you" (She was right behind him.)

Pandora's Trunk saw a change.  Jordan told Garret that the only person she could trust to help her was Woody.  Only Woody arrests her (he can’t cover for her this time—his job is on the line).  At this point Woody (who still cares for her) is beginning to get fed up with Jordan being Jordan—he still protects her the best he can though.

In Til Death Do We Part Woody confronts Jordan about the amount of time they are spending together. Movies, dinner, dancing, hiking. Woody asks her if she's changing her mind about them. Their conversation is interrupted and Woody tells her they are not done with the conversation. At the end of the episode Woody talks metaphorically about taking chances with love. She asks if he is talking about them. He gives her a vague answer.

In O Brother Where Art Thou Jordan tells Woody to "leave her alone".

Things get sticky when Devan appears. It's obvious that Woody is attracted to her to everybody but Jordan. She’s completely clueless.

In After Dark Jordan was supposed to go to the Governor's Ball with Woody but backs out by volunteering to do a pick up with Bug.  Jordan tries to tell Bug about the "weird mating dance" she and Woody are in but Bug doesn't really want to listen. At the end of the episode Woody and Devan leave to get a drink and Jordan is left stunned when Garret mentions it.  For the first time it dawns on her that Woody is moving on—or really does consider her just a friend.

In Intruded Woody makes one last play for Jordan and is shot down cold.  Then at the end of the episode Jordan brings up making changes in their relationship and it's Woody who takes the step back.  They decide to just continue being friends.

In later episodes Jordan makes some jealous sounding comments about Woody's developing relationship with Devan.

Deja Past finds Woody and Devan working together.  Woody’s always ‘noticed’ Devan but they start to get into a comfortable banter.  Woody and Devan end the episode heading over to Devan’s to watch movies together.  Jordan is left alone as the two of them leave as it finally really dawns on her that Woody is moving on.

Fire From the Sky leaves Woody grieving over Devan’s death.  He and Devan had started dating.

Now that Devan is gone Woody and Jordan seem to have fallen back to square one in their relationship, but both seem more comfortable...like they have found a true trust in each other…something that is more promising in its stability.  Things are good between them for awhile.

In You Really Got me Woody agrees to go with Jordan to LA to help her with a case.  Woody who is supposed to be going to a concert in Florida trades away his tickets to help her.  They have a moment where Jordan opens up to Woody and they have a serious conversation, then they almost kiss.  Jordan's phone rings, conveniently giving Jordan an excuse to pull away, which she does through the rest of the episode.  Woody leaves LA feeling frustrated as Jordan manages to pull back on him again.

Cal (Woody’s brother) comes to visit in Skin and Bone.  Cal hits on Jordan and she flirts back.  Woody gets very possessive towards Jordan.  He tells Cal that he can have any girl in Boston except Jordan.  When Cal puts Jordan’s life in jeopardy Woody freaks out.  He blows up at Cal and is more concerned with Jordan’s safety.

Embraceable You had Woody testing Jordan.  He gives her a diamond friendship ring.  Jordan completely flips out and won’t accept it.  She does what she always does—runs.  Jordan talks to Nigel about the gift and Nigel tells Jordan that someone (i.e. Woody) is telling her what his intentions are and it’s time somebody else (i.e. Jordan) step up to the plate.  At the end of the episode Woody admits he was testing Jordan to see where she stood.  He cuts Jordan off when she’s about to say something more (maybe say okay let’s give a chance—we’ll never know) and tells Jordan they’re better off as friends.

In Push Jump Fall we ended the season with Jordan opening up to Woody.  She hears he’s been shot and is a wreck.  She whispers something to Woody right before he goes into surgery (what she whispers we don’t know—though most assume it was something along the lines of ‘she cares for him and he can’t leave her’.  Did she say ‘I love you’—we don’t know.)  After Woody’s out of surgery (and on some major painkillers) Jordan visits him and he thinks Jordan just said what she said out of pity and tells her to get lost.

There's No Place Like Home II is the start of the fifth season we find Woody in the hospital recovering from the gun shot wound.  He learns that he will walk again.  Jordan who's been at the hospital finally talks to him again after he wakes up from the second surgery and he still doesn't want to see her.  Eight weeks go by and Woody goes back to work.  Jordan hasn't had any contact with him in that time.  When they do finally cross paths again Woody is still very distance.  He uses Jordan to further his own cause and ends up making a bigger wedge between them.

WOODY-JORDAN VIDEO

Luck be a Lady and Under the Weather, the tension between the two is obvious and the rest of the morgue staff starts to get clued into the fact that everything isn't right between Woody and Jordan.

Things continue to go downhill for the two.  In Judgement Day JD shows up.  There are sparks between him and Jordan.  In Enlightenment JD asks Woody if he can proceed or if he'd be stepping on Woody's territory.  Woody gives him the green light.

Woody and Jordan are thrown together again in Road Kill.  Kessler picks up on the tension between them and does all that she can to make the two work together.  This is the first time that Jordan and Woody seem to truly be back on friend terms.

A Man in Blue continues their friendship status.  Jordan calls Woody to come get her when she has to leave her car at the mechanics.  Jordan works with Lu to do all that she can to prove Woody's innocence when he's accused of planting evidence.

Loves Me Not sees the first major change in their relationship.  Jordan and Woody get stranded at an Inn and end up sleeping together.  Jordan is still seeing JD however and this causes more strain on Jordan and pressure from Woody to make a decision.

The pressure from Woody continues in The Elephant in the Room.  He and Jordan are getting along better than they have in a long time, but Woody wants her to end things with JD.  Jordan eventually tells JD she slept with Woody, but JD has already figured it out.

In Code of Ethics Jordan and JD break up.  In Dreamland Jordan invites Woody in but he passes.  He claims he doesn't want to be her rebound guy.  He thinks they should give it a little bit of time.

Death Toll, an emotional episode, pushed the two further apart.  Woody, while comforting Lu, kisses her.

The void between Woody and Jordan grows.  Jordan becomes occupied with her life (trying to adopt Kayla--Save Me) and Woody starts seeing Lu (Blame Game).

In Thin Ice Jordan walks in on Lu and Woody kissing.  She's finally clued in that Woody is dating Lu.  She claims Woody has every right to see whoever he wants.  Woody wants to talk to her about it, but Jordan doesn't.  He tries to apologize to her Mysterious Ways, but she won't have it.  Jordan has come to terms with herself, her relationships and her life.  She tells Woody that she's grown up in the past year--and that Woody hasn't.

In Mace vs. Scalpel things are going down hill for Woody and Lu.  In Don't Leave Me This Way, when Jordan is accused of murdering JD Woody sticks up for her.  He believes her and does everything that he can to help prove her innocence.  This causes the last straw to break between him and Lu.
