The Jordan-J.D. History

Jordan and J.D. first meet in Judgement Day.  The sparks flew...as each one rubbed the other one the wrong way.  Jordan (as JD claims) managed to get her fired from his job.  JD turns around and uses pictures Jordan gives (bribes) JD with for his own use disregarding Jordan's bargain.  By the in of the episode they manage to work together to solve the case.

In Enlightenment Jordan and JD pose as a married couple, going undercover to try and solve a case.  Under rather stressful circumstances they are forced to have their first kiss.  JD asks Woody later in the episode if he'd be stepping on toes if he pursued Jordan.  Woody tells JD to go for it.

JD shows up at Jordan's apartment at the end of the episode to get his grandmother's ring back (he'd lent it to her when they were undercover).  He says he felt something when they kissed earlier.  They banter.  This leads to more kissing and the start of their relationship.

In Total Recall JD invites Jordan to spend a weekend with him on Martha's Vineyard.  She accepts, then backs out.  After a talk from Nigel--"A little early in the relationship to be sabotaging yourself isn't it?"--Jordan makes apologies to JD and asks if they can give it another go.

Whenever I start to get close to someone this little voice starts screaming in my head run fast.  Crazy.  Messed up.  Cuckoo.  I wish I could promise you it won't happen again, but it probably will.
~ Jordan

Pollack tells her he knew she was crazy, messed up, cuckoo the moment he laid eyes on her.  However he's falling for her and is willing to be patient with her.  It's reassurance Jordan needs.

In Road Kill Jordan and Woody are thrown together on a case they're working on.  JD is left out of the loop so he does some tracking and tracing and finds out where Jordan is and what's going on.  He's worried about her, but he also doesn't completely trust her when she tells him to not worry.

JD gets held hostage by Ryan Kessler in this episode where he is used as bait.  He gets shot in the shoulder, but comes out of it okay.

It's obvious JD's job causes some tension on their relationship.  He wants to know/report the information Jordan can't share.  In A Man in Blue Woody's career is put on the line as his motives are questioned in an article that JD writes.  Jordan and Woody have just started to get back on good--friend--terms.  This article causes problems between Jordan and JD.  While they end the episode together the tension between them is thick and shaky.

Death Goes On worsens a bad situation.  Jordan gets involved in a case she's working on.  A young woman who doesn't want to accept her sister's death and move on with life talks about love.  Jordan grabs on to her explanation of love.  When Jordan is alone with JD she asks him to look into her eyes and tell her what he sees.  He fails her test--a test that probably wasn't fairly given by Jordan to begin with.  This causes more stress on their relationship.

Jordan gets stranded in an Inn in Loves Me Not.  She sleeps with Woody--while she's still seeing JD.  While she's doubting herself and her relationship with JD, JD is getting serious.  He's bought her a ring and plans to propose to her.

In The Elephant in the Room, Woody keeps insisting that Jordan talk with JD.  He and Jordan are getting along better and it shows to everyone around them.  Jordan finally works up the courage to tell JD, only he beats her to the punch.  He's figured out what happened between the two of them.  He's willing to look past it if Jordan tells him it didn't mean anything.

Code of Ethics marks the end of Jordan and JD.  It seems JD is having a hard time 'getting past' it with Woody constantly around and Jordan still seems to be wishy washy.  JD accuses Jordan of sabotaging their relationship.  She finally admits he was right.  She's clearly distraught.  She's tried hard to make this relationship work.  She cares about JD, but she still seems to keep finding ways and reasons to pull away.

JD's parting words to Jordan are: It’s not the first time I’ve had my heart broken.  Probably won’t be the last. (wipes tear from her cheek)  See you around Cavanaugh.

Jordan gets on with her life, expecting to somehow work Woody into it.  Only he pulls away and hooks up with Lu.  When Jordan learns this her emotions/feeling for the men in her life are again questioned.  She realizes that she blew a good thing with JD.  In Mace vs. Scalpel Jordan calls JD.  She admits that she's missing him.

JD returns to Boston in Don't Leave Me This Way.  The two seem ready to work on their relationship again only before they ever get the chance JD is murdered.
