Episode 116
D.O.A (05-09-07)
I write this review with a sad heart.
It looks like this will be my second to last review that
I write ever again for Crossing Jordan.
Forgive me for taking forever to write
this. With the new of CJ’s cancellation, my heart
hasn’t been into it. Every time I stop to think about
the episodes I get sad, and I stop writing. So without
further ado I’m going to get this written.
One A plot. Two B plots. Liked the B
plots better.
Bug and Lily—I was never a fan of them
getting together, but in this episode I became a
believer. Bug finally did what I’ve been waiting for
him to do since season 2. He took charge. That was
always my problem with Bug and Lily. Lily was the
strong one and seemed to walk all over Bug. She used
him when she needed him, pushed him away when he tried
to get close. And Bug always let her. For the first
time in six years, Bug stood up to Lily and wouldn’t let
her talk her way out of it. For the first time I
finally saw them on equal ground.
I’m glad they’re going to have a happy
ending. I’m sure there’ll be bumps along the way, but
when Lily and Bug left together I knew they were both
going to end up happy. Finally they were on equal
ground and could now start a relationship.
I love that Garret is so perceptive to
other’s problems. Bug didn’t even have to ask before
Garret was interrupting him and telling Bug to do
whatever he needed to do. (I’m going to miss Garret and
his quiet understanding.)
Nigel and Kate—the best surprise of
season 6 by far. I love it! They’re trying to
antagonize each other. It’s become a game now. It
breaks my heart that we won’t get to see more of them.
When the two of them are in a room together you can
practically feel the sizzle. You know I don’t even
remember what their case was about…in detail…one
magician killed another…because I was so caught up in
Kate and Nigel’s need to prove the other wrong.
Has Kate jumped into the morgue dynamic
or not! Earlier this season she wouldn’t have cared why
the two men killed each other. She would have done her
job and moved on to the next body. I love seeing her
care about a case. The reenactment scene…man that
brought back memories. It was perfect and to top the
scene off Bug walks in on them and gives them this
look.
Did he stop a kiss from happening?? Now
that would have been interesting. I can just see Nigel
leaning and a giving Kate’s lips the slightest brush of
a kiss only to have her punch him in the stomach…then of
course it would be the obligatory bantering back and
forth which would of course end with Kate kissing
Nigel. Okay, so maybe I have a few romantic genes in
me…I’m allowed to get sappy every now and then.
Ahh Jordan’s “You seriously need a wife”
comment. Where you volunteering Jordan? That chair was
hideous :) Totally and 100% a Woody chair. It was fun
to see the old J-W dynamic between the two. The two
really do work so well together.
Jordan and Max. I’m not sure what I
think about this development. It seems strange after so
much time with out Max, but we’ve had mention of him
throughout the seasons since he parted…so he hasn’t
totally been forgotten. At least this case gave Jordan
a great reason to quit being quite so stubborn and get
in contact with her father.
And I’m sorry I have to comment on this.
I was laughing so hard I missed everything that Woody
and Jordan said next. And MJ thought I’d lost my mind.
Woody’s pronunciation of the town Methuen. Oh man, I
can’t believe no one caught that. It’s
[muh-thoo-uh
n].
Just writing it makes me chuckle. I’ll give them
credit, at least they used a town that is actually in
Northern Massachusetts, and not far from the New
Hampshire boarder but still…*chuckles*…Woody so
butchered the pronunciation.
Random Moments that made me smile:
-
Nigel holding a screaming Maddy.
- Bug and Maddy—he’ll be an awesome father.
- “Tux stabs pajama, pajama strangles tux.”
- “Stab, push, strangle, fall. Case
closed.”
- Woody’s comment—“There’s no law against
not calling your dad. If there were there’d be a
few warrants out on you.” This comment
shows just how well they know each other.
- Unmovable object meets unstoppable
force. This can only end in disaster.

5 dead bodies.
