Episode 25
Bombs Away (09-30-02)
Brief Synopsis: A crazed man
straps explosives to his body and holds the morgue hostage.
Jordan: Jordan is still getting
over some issues with everyone. Her up and leaving has left her in a less than
thrilling position on the importance level. She’ll work her way back up in
status. I think she deserves the punishment. Oh like her being the head ME on
the case and doing as she pleases rather than having to play back up, but this
is what she deserves. So she’s been punished. Now give her some of her own
cases and get her back in her more dominate role. She’s apologized enough to
everyone. Her stronger (and more vocal) side is bound to start popping up
again.
Woody:
There’s this presence about him that has a wonderful affect on those around
him. He was a bit upset with Jordan and ignored her a little, but he just can’t
ignore her completely. He can’t help himself. The one refreshing thing about
Jordan is she speaks her mind. She tells Woody that she’s fed up with him being
mad at her. She basically tells him to get over it. Now that would make most
people madder, but Woody thinks about it and agrees she’s right. And he moves
on. Things seem to be back on steady footing with them.
Elaine: Well she knows where she
stands I don’t think she much cares. I don’t know if she has it out for
Garret’s job or if she’s been put there by the Rene Walcott fellow. I’m
thinking maybe Walcott wants an inside link, her own person. Elaine’s ethics
are good though. She hasn’t been mean or malicious. She just does her job.
However she hasn’t tried to fit in. And that may be her downfall. She’s coming
into a family and you don’t have to try and make enemies when you enter a
situation like that. The morgue staff is just waiting for a reason to reject
(or accept) her. So she either better try to bond with them or I think she will
become ‘the one no one likes.’
Lily: I think Lily will make a
good grief counselor. That uncanny ability she has to connect with people and
their problems came through today. I was right when I said in an earlier review
that Lily saw Bug more as a friend than a romantic interest. I felt sorry for
Bug, but I’m glad that they’re not getting Lily into a relationship again this
year. Let her shine on her own. She doesn’t need a guy. Another positive note
is she’s lost her ditzy-ness!
Bug and Nigel: Wow. That was a
strong fight and some hurtful words were said. Where I know Nigel doesn’t mean
them, he just doesn’t have a mean bone in him, I think Bug was serious. Bug
wouldn’t accept Nigel’s attempt at an apology and was really depressed. I
wonder if it’s going to be a bumpy road for those two or if they’ll make up.
Bug seems to have so many issues right now.
I think my favorite part of the whole
episode was at the beginning when Woody can’t keep a straight face when Jordan
says it’s not even close to what I mean. This is after Elaine jumps and tries
to smooth things over with the agent. Woody knows first hand what Jordan’s like
and to not be on the receiving end of it for once has got to be nice.
3 out of 5 Dead Bodies. I usually rate
the episodes based on characters rather than plot, but the plot killed this
episode a little. I liked the interaction going on between everyone. We did
get some behavioral changes in some of the main characters, some which are a
nice twist. The plot however was rather un-suspenseful (I know it’s not a word)
for the urgency a bomb threat should incur.
