Episode 6
Believers (10-29-01)

Brief Synopsis: Jordan investigates the death of a senator's daughter but a reporter makes it hard for Jordan to finish her investigation.

Asides from the fact that this episode OBVIOUSLY should have come before Born to Run…it wasn’t too bad.

Tell me how someone goes apartment hunting in this episode for an apartment she had two episodes ago…something aired out of order.  Okay I’ve gotten over that hang up…so on to my analysis.

A sad and bitter sweet story.  W can’t live without politicians, but we can’t live with them either.  Their career is more important than their family.  The spot light and their reputation means more than their child…or so is the case in this episode.  A daughter desperately seeking help and both parents chose to ignore her cry.  Then when they find her dead (or think they find her dead) they dump her body and try to cover it up as a murder just to hide their daughter’s problem.

Jordan: I liked Jordan in her ‘reporter’ type role.  She proved she can be as slick as our fellow reporter Adam.  There’s no doubt Jordan cares (maybe too much) about the bodies that pass her way.  There was a nice chemistry between her and Adam.  It made for a few humorous scenes between the two.

Garret: Transvestite.  Oh what a case for the ‘oh so proper’ and ‘by the book’ Dr. Macy to get.  What was Lily thinking?  Giving the case to Garret? Though I guess she was right because in the end Garret (we are lead to believe) preformed the requested surgery.  Two points of view were given with convincing arguments from both sides.  Lily was in support of it where as the wife couldn’t understand or support her husband’s decision.

The decision came down to ethics and morals.  It could have gone either way really.  I think there was equal support for Lily’s view and the wife’s view.

Bug, Nigel and Trey: The autopsy of the very obese Jewish man was hilarious.  It added some humor to the episode in which it was much needed with Jordan’s political case and Garret’s case of moral choice.  The explosion was disgusting…and the body parts definitely weren’t going all make it back ‘in’ him.

It was fun seeing the three guys work together.  They had a good chemistry going.

Side Note: The snake guy had a sense of humor.  He was wonderful for the few lines he had.  I’d be hightailing it out of that apartment too.  Though that’s a nice flat for Boston!

3 out of 5 Dead Bodies.
