“Virtual Season 7 is a movement borne of dissatisfaction with the way major networks have begun to treat their fans,” a source close to the project claimed, “Viewers who loyally support particular programs feel ripped off when networks and their lackeys refuse to take any note of that loyalty.”
The cancellation, of the long running series, “Crossing Jordan”, prompted a great team of fan-fiction writers comprised of a group of clever and articulate fans that have harnessed this dissatisfaction and creative energy and aim to deliver to fans the closure for the Crossing Jordan series with a "Virtual" Season 7. Not one of the staff have the support of a vast advertising portfolio. Nor have any of them graced the credit lists of current top-rating programs. Nor is monetary gain neither sought nor gained. The excitement surrounding this launch is, however, palpable is not because of its scope or size, but because of the commitment of those behind the venture.
Virtual Season 7 picked up where the series itself ended with a “cliffhanger” dubbed as the “finale” for the series after 6 years.
These talented women are going to give the series the “finale” it deserved. Their virtual season is going to be 31 episodes long and is being offered to anyone who is interested in closure, as well as answers for the loose ends we were left with.
The first episode, "Hold That Thought" premiered Sunday, September 30, 2007. The Virtual Season 7 (VS7) is hosted in the www.crossingjordanencyclopedia.com web site. You can enjoy each episode every Sunday at 9:00 pm EPT until the last one airs on April 27, 2008.
Each episode will remain available for viewing anytime in the crossingjordanencyclopedia.com site after it airs.
The premiere picked up after the rescue from the mountainside. It was fabulously written, presented with graphics and music. (Spoilers are posted on Thursday's prior to airing on Sunday.) It was as if you are watching it on TV.
VS7 is getting a lot of attention already, just days after the premiere. You can find it already added to the Wikipedia.com/Crossing Jordan web site. Other articles are being found in Canadian news as well as various media here in the States.
Perhaps the networks should take note....When fans take over the programs, "What’s next?...The networks themselves?"
Please visit the web site. If you were a Crossing Jordan fan, you will be so glad that you did. For that matter, even if you never even saw a single episode of the series, you will still be completely in awe and impressed at the quality, professionalism and creativeness put into the venture.
