Lara's Review - A Man in Blue

This was an awesome episode!!!

There were so many innuendos and issues; it was hard to keep it straight!

I believe we have seen the beginning of the end for JD and Jordan, and the beginning of a ‘something’ for Woody and Lu. Despite some reservations by fans, I think Lu is potentially a great character to have, she seems to be a sane Jordan, she has drive, determination and pretty much seems to have her life together - although this could change as we see her character develop, which I am looking forward to. However, we will have to wait until episode 14 or 15 for her return.
Talk about daggers from Jordan in that last scene, if looks could kill JD would have had a very quick and painful death! The problems Jordan has now with JD seem to stem from her unresolved issues with Woody, and JD’s treatment of her ‘friend’, I believe these unresolved feelings for Woody will be a contributing factor in the break up of the relationship.

In this episode I loved the mirroring of the cop shooting with Woody's history, you can imagine a cop saying the same things to Woody after his father was killed. I think Jerry O’Connell was awesome in this episode. He has been given the chance to go to town with Woody and explore the character more than he had previously. Jerry O’Connell is doing a fantastic job revealing the more dramatic side of Woody.

I have to say, I love boys and their toys - and how they break down - how many boys do you know who soup up their cars only to have them stuff up?!

I believe that the Jordan/Woody tension still has to come to ahead, its not there yet. Something huge is going to happen and it will not be good! Personally I would like to see them get into a huge argument where they really go at it, with all the issues being forced onto the table. It would be fun and interesting. At the moment there seems to be a truce between the character, accepting that they must work together, but as in any good drama, unresolved issues will play out!

The secondary story between Nigel, Bug and Garret was cute, and there were some ties to the main story, about accepting the situation, looking at yourself and your destiny. I would like to see more of the cast have some major stories this season (the on going Garret story is going to be one) but there is so much the writers could do with them. We had the opportunity in season four to see Steve Valentine flex his dramatic muscles, as well as Kathryn Hahn, and I think some more of these storylines would provide a great balance to the Woody/Jordan drama.

I guess all issues come to ahead eventually and this was a great episode, it does leave you wanting more. And as much as I want Woody and Jordan together, I like them taking different paths, I like that Jordan seems to be a lot more settled and is able to separate herself from her cases, and then paralleling this Woody is becoming more invested and obsessive!!! It’s great!!!
