Brief Synopsis: A reporter is killed while chasing down a story about a young prostitute; Macy tries to save the life of a hit-and-run victim, then finds himself at the center of a wrongful-death suit.

It’s fun to get a chance to see the other characters shine, but I sure missed Jordan (and Nigel) in this episode.

Woody and Bug: Those two are not on the same wavelength.  They’re like apples and oranges, peas and carrots…They can go together but they aren’t the same.  Woody’s the ‘hot’ (love it when he gets a chance to take his shirt off :) confident, sweet talking, playful yet can be serious detective.  Bug’s average, a blend in with the crowd type, pessimistic, sullen, jaded coroner.

Bug seems to be immune/oblivious to Woody’s jokes yet cracks his own (admittedly dry and sarcastic) jokes every now and then too.  Bug feels inferior at times when he’s around Woody and hence pulls the ‘knowledgeable’ card quite often.  Poor Bug.  He insisted on cracking the password without Nigel’s help (despite Woody’s constant suggestions to consult Nigel).  Though they could have come across the information sooner (had they enlisted Nigel’s help) and hence solved the case sooner it was fun to see Bug manage things on his own.

The scenes were well paced.  It was a twist to find out a Senator was involved—though no surprise it was a politician getting into murky waters.  The reporter must have been desperate to create a story about underage prostitution.  That’s not a light topic by any means.

The ironic thing is that though his story/informant is false, his story is true.  The reporter just doesn’t know it.  He publishes a fake story, scares a high placed person in politics, he won’t can the story and hence the politician cans it for him—by killing him.  It doesn’t pay to lie…the moral of this story.

Garret: Garret was on a mission today.  He saves the life of a man and then the man shows up in his morgue.  He rightly believes the guy what helped along to his maker, sooner than planned.  Lily was a 100% correct at being mad a Garret.  He should have kept his mouth shut when talking to the wife.  His questions resulted in the lawsuit against the Boston Morgue.  I’m surprised at Garret.  He of all people knows better and is best able to control his emotions.  This case had to have really gotten to him.

It nice to see Garret so head strong on a case.  Even he can lose his sense occasionally.  Jordan would have been proud of him.  I loved his interaction with Devan.  She pushes his buttons just like Jordan.  In fact he grumbles early on in the episode that he’s got another Jordan on his hands.  Those two will drive him to an early grave.  That said—Devan and Garret worked well together.

3 ½ out of 5 Dead Bodies.   I enjoyed it.  It was nice to see our unlikely characters pair up.  There’s never much Woody and Bug scenes or Garret and Devan scenes.  It was a nice change.
