Random Facts:

Boy oh Boy! This is so not City Hall...at least not City Hall in Boston.

Brief History of Boston City Hall: In the 1960s Boston City Hall popularized the New Brutalist style for government buildings in the U.S. The style uses massive forms with site cast concrete, which is left ruff, often with marks from wooden formwork or texturing by hammer. The distinctly pidemporary effect provides a stark pidrast to Old Boston City Hall. (Picture of Boston City Hall)

Ethan Sandler, the guy who played Jeffery (the lawyer) in this episode has also been in two other CJ episodes.  One in As if by Fate where he played a dead man.  And the other in You Really Got Me.  He was the karaoke singer.

Goofs:

Music:

Rock n Roll by the Ramones, performed by KISS
Mondo Bongo, Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros

Quotes:

Jordan: Garret Macy depressed?  Jeez how could you tell?
Bug: Lily he’s been depressed his whole life.
Lily: No it’s different.  It’s deeper.  Something’s wrong. I think he need us…
(Garret interrupts.)

Garret: Woody’s at the scene. Coordinate it with him.
Jordan: (to Bug) You go to the courthouse.  I’ve got bus boy.
Bug: (to Lily) She and Woody ever gonna work it out?
Lily: I don’t know.

Jordan: Excuse me. WHO are you.
J.D.: J.D. Pollack.  Boston Monitor.  Who are you?
Jordan: Doesn’t the monitor usually stick to two-headed aliens?

Woody: If you help them get away I’m gonna charge you.  So help me…  Do you hear me?  Do you hear me?!
Bug: Woody.  What are you doing?  The children are right there.

J.D.: …Now if you could just get me into the cell block where he is…
Nigel: What is wrong with you!?

Lily: Woody you are out of control.

Nigel: He can’t stay in there forever.
Jordan looks at Nigel, then opens the Men’s Room door and head in after him.
Nigel: Jordan!

Lily: Lily Lebowski.  I work in the ME’s office.
Jeffery: As what? The resident pit bull?

Lily: Can you get this warrant rescinded?
Jeffery: Can you get out of my face?
Lily: Can you answer my question?

Jeffery: I’d love to stay and chat all day, but we have very short life expectancies in my life and I’d like to finish the case I’m on before I die.

Garret: I just got a call from Over Guard Health Services.  They want me to put you on a leash. (to Jordan)

Jordan: You’re not really going to put me on that leash are you?
Garret: You’d just chew through it.

Pollack: What do you want? You come for that favor I told you not to ask for?
Jordan (to Pollack): This is what you used to be. (hold hand far apart)  This is was you contend to be now. (hold up fingers with only a couple inches between them)

Garret: Don’t you think you’re projecting your own issues onto your work?
Lily: You’re qualified to give this lecture?

Jordan: I’ll be somewhere out there finding and killing J.D. Pollack.
Garret: Come with me.  Now.

Nigel: The leech has attached itself to us and it’s sucking our life’s blood.

Lily: Why didn’t she tell us this?  I always felt like we were a burden to her.  Now I know why.  She got stuck with me.  With us.
Garret: Did she ever say that?
Lily: No.
Garret: Lily.  Whatever else she never threw it in your face.  Even when you were ready to kill each other she never said you’re not my daughter did she?

Lily: No. (hug)
Garret: I’d say she was your real mother.

Jordan: Do you have any idea how close to death you are?
J.D.: Well this would be the place for it.

Lily: Is there anything I can do to help you.
Bailey: Yeah you can shut up.

Lily: What about you Woody?  You okay?
Woody: I took down a killer I’m fine.

Garret: So I talked to Woody.  He said you’d make a pretty good hostage negotiator.
Lily: What you said about my mom…when I opened Andy’s letter it was like if I don’t know who she was then who am I?  You gave her back to me.  Thank you.

J.D.: Read this then decide if you still want to pull out my liver.

Jordan: (back in the men’s toilet) There’s something poetic about ending this here.

J.D.: Friends?
Jordan: I doubt it.
