Description:

Investigating the alleged suicide of a local wife, Jordan reunites with a love from her past - the victim's husband. Confused over the turmoil caused by the chance meeting, the ME turns to Dr. Howard Stiles to sort out her past romance. Elsewhere, Garret accompanies D.A. Walcott to North Carolina to determine if the execution of a serial rapist was extremely cruel; and a harsh reaction from a grieving mother forces Lily to question a past decision.

Random Facts:

The episode title is also one of the Patricia Cornwell books. The book is the fourth in the Kay Scarpetta series. It's about a death row inmate who dies and someone steals his fingerprints from AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System)

Goofs:

When they were showing the city that the execution in NC supposedly took place in, they showed the skyline of Asheville. But Central Prison, where the executions take place, is in the state capital, Raleigh ~ about 4-5 hours away from Asheville.

Stiles:  Jordan! Wow I haven't died have I?
Jordan: No Howard I need your help.
Stiles:  What's the matter?  What happened?
Jordan:  I think I may have killed someone.

Jordan:  I remember my parents being happy.
Stiles:  Why does that make you sad?
Jordan:  Because it can't be right.
Stiles:  Why not?
Jordan:  It just can't.

Rene:  (to Garret)  I just came by to see if you wanted to get a bite, but it looks like you've got plenty to chew on.

Lily:  You've sort of have a wild side don't you?
Nigel:  It's been said I'm all wild side.

Garret:  Listen, today was horrible.  So if you wanted to be alone, I mean that would be only human.
Rene:  Thanks, but I've been quantifying my own emotions since I was six.
Garret:  Excuse me for trying to show compassion to a block of ice.
Rene:  If you had any compassion you would offer me a friggin' drink.
Garret:  Fine (gives her a drink)
Rene:  What no ice?
Garret:  Don't push it.

Garret:  You know I really don't like you.
Rene:  Right back atcha.
Garret:  I mean not at all.
Rene:  I get it . . . just kiss me.

Jordan:  There's something that I didn't tell you.
Stiles:  You're kidding?

Stiles:  The answers you're looking for are not in that body.
Jordan:  Trust me.  The answers are always in the body.

Garret:  Look Renee, I wanted to say that last night was a real comfort.
Rene:  Really?  Where I come from they call it sex.
Garret:  I was trying to be discreet.
Rene:  Back to being a stick in the mud I see.

Jordan:  I loved him.
Stiles:  And that terrified you!
Jordan: Yeah.

Stiles:  What did you do?
Jordan:  I ran up to my room and shut the door.  It wasn't safe.
Stiles:  What wasn't safe?
Jordan:  It wasn't safe to love anyone.  I promised myself I never, ever would.
Stiles:  And with Tom you broke that promise.
Jordan:  Will I ever escape her?
Stiles:  That's up to you.

Garret:  You know it's not going to be easy on our home turf.
Rene:  Nothing worth anything ever is.
Garret:   I still don't like you.
Rene:  You keep on telling yourself that.
