Quotes:
Lily: Jordan put down the
gun… put down the gun… what happened… take a deep breath… hey, Jordan, what
happened?
Jordan: I don’t know… I don’t remember.
Nigel: I’m just saying, Brandau’s mum sure is a pistol, her cha-cha-cha,
her paddle and roll…
Bug: I think I’m going to be sick.
Nigel: Who would have thought a woman who gave birth to that could be so
va-va-va-voom… makes me look forward to meeting your mum.
Garret: You girls looked lovely last night…
Nigel: … I never would have pegged Lily as the kind of person to quit her
job just because she’s getting married.
Garret: I think she needs a change.
Bug: It wouldn’t be the same without her.
Jordan: Why would I do this? Why would I shoot him?
Garret: Don’t say anything else Jordan… She’s in shock what ever she says
doesn’t count.
Jordan: I don’t remember what happened, I need to know.
Lu: Doctor Macy, I think it’s better for CSU to do it.
Garret: You don’t want to go there detective.
Bug: You don’t need to be here.
Lily: I need to be here for Jordan.
Bug: Where’s Jeffery?
Lily: I called him, there was this wedding breakfast thing, I guess he
hasn’t checked his messages.
Bug: At least sit down.
Garret: How many drinks did you have?
Jordan: It was a party, I wasn’t counting.
Garret: How did you get that bruise on your arm?
Jordan: Garret, I did this once before, remember, blacked out something
bad, why would I shoot him?
Nigel: Woody?
Woody: Feast your eyes on this my friend.
Nigel: Woody…
Woody: I know what you’re thinking, this is a kids sandwich…
Nigel: No, no, Woody, didn’t anyone call you?
Garret: Gun shot residue.
Jordan: Oh God, I really did do it!
Lu: …It looks like she shot him.
Woody: Why?
Lu: She doesn’t know… but you should not be here, you had a relationship
with her.
Woody: And you have a relationship with me.
Lu: You don’t remember how many drinks you had?
Jordan: I’ve never drunk myself into a black out.
Pollack: I’m not snooping… Looking for aspirin.
Jordan: Headache?
Pollack: Yeah, little bit.
Jordan: You here on a story?
Pollack: Sort of, not really, I… I thought maybe, you know… you called
me.
Jordan: Yeah, I was thinking about you, wondering how you were doing.
Pollack: I’ve been thinking about you too.
Nigel: There isn’t anything that would make Jordan shoot him down in cold
blood, intentionally, maliciously.
Bug: She doesn’t have a temper.
Nigel: She’s not homicidal… It must have been an accident.
Bug: One slug in the headboard, another in the wall, one shot could be an
accident, but two?
Nigel: This is Jordan we’re talking about.
Garret: Look, I never liked this guy, but we’re saying he tried to kill
her?
Bug: But what are our choices? It can only be an accident, self defense…
or murder.
Pollack: Just like home.
Jordan: You do that?
Pollack: Yeah, used to, till my liver started complaining.
Bug: Hello everyone, I would like to make a toast, to Lily and er…
Jeffery: Jeffery.
Bug: Jeffery… who are getting married tomorrow.
Lily: What’s going on? Is he drunk?
Jordan: It’ll be fine.
Bug: Now I think everyone in this room knows Jeffery.
Elaine: I know him.
Bug: But, for those of you who do not know Lily, she is kind, she’s
sweet, she has the biggest, most caring heart of anyone I have ever met. Now,
I’m not very good at making speeches… And I don’t know much about finding love,
but I imagine we are not that much different from the Harmonia axyridis… the
ladybug, who hibernates all through the winter and then ventures out in the
spring with just one goal, to find his soul mate. This is a creature that would
rather die than fail the quest, eventually the two meet, they become one, and
they are complete, and they flourish as never before. I am so glad that my
friend, has found a way to flourish with yours. Cheers!
Nigel: Jordan’s blood alcohol level is 0.002
Bug: So Jordan wasn’t drunk last night, is that good for us or bad for
us?
Woody: This is good Jordan, this tape is good. He’s angry, he’s man
handling you, maybe he’s out of control, he does something, you fight back, this
goes to self-defense.
Bug: Pollack had a lot more to drink than Jordan. Maybe that explains the
fight.
Nigel: Aussie’s love to drink.
Garret: His being drunk isn’t enough .
Jordan: What? What is it?
Garret: I think I should talk to the detectives first… Jordan.
Jordan: Oh my God.
Lu: What happened?
Jordan: This couldn’t have been self-defense.
Woody: What is it?
Garret: He was shot in the back.
Lu: Then it’s…
Jordan: … Murder.
Jordan: Not guilty.
Judge: Mr Brandau? Something you’d like to share with the class?
Lily: I can’t get married today Elaine.
Elaine: Look, I know that this situation is not ideal. But, the guests
are here, people have flown in from all over the world.
Lily: I am so sorry that just does not seem important to me right now.
Elaine: It will Lily. Listen, I’m not suggesting you forget about your
friend, but when you think back on your wedding day do you want it to be you and
Jeffery in front of some judge at city hall? Is that what you want? If you don’t
get married today, I’m afraid that is what it is going to be, everybody’s here
for you… today.
Woody: Jordan, are you ok?... Sorry, stupid question. What are you going
to do? I mean now?
Jordan: I don’t know.
Woody: Anybody staying with you?
Jordan: No.
Woody: I can maybe get a few days off.
Jordan: No thanks… Find out what happened…. Please.
Pollack: … Maybe we could be a little late for the party.
Jordan: I’m sorry, maid of honor duties… Besides, we have all night.
Pollack: More than that I hope.
Nigel: … you ok?
Jordan: Beside from the indictment?
Nigel: Sorry, I just…
Jordan: It’s ok, I know… I’m not here… (leaves lab)
Garret: Jordan’s out on bail.
Nigel: Yeah, I heard.
Garret: The judge has a restriction, she show’s up in the morgue her
bail’s revoked, so do her a favor and make sure she doesn’t.
Nigel: I would never…
Garret: Course you would, you two are as thick as thieves and she’s
Jordan. She won’t be able to let us sit back and do our jobs. It’s for her own
good Nigel. And you might want to get an extension on your tux rental. It sounds
like Lily is going to postpone the wedding. (leaves)
Jordan: She’s calling of the wedding?
Nigel: Are you crazy?
Jordan: I came up the freight elevator, no one saw me.
Nigel: Get out… get out…
Jordan: Nigel, I’m gone. As soon as you show me what’s on that flash
drive… please Nige, I can’t read it on my laptop.
Lu: What are you hoping to find?
Woody: We might have missed something, it happens.
Lu: Ok, then let’s go over it again… you want to go back to the hotel?...
Woody, the evidence says she did it, she believes she did it, you’re going to
have to find a way to accept it.
Woody: You act like you don’t even know her.
Lu: You wanted on this case, this is what it is.
Woody: Then I made a mistake, coz, I won’t help you bring her down.
Jordan: Don’t call off your wedding.
Lily: What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t.
Jordan: This day’s already been horrible enough, don’t make it worse.
Look you’ve already found the guy you want to spend the rest of your life with,
don’t let me screw that up for you, please.
Lily: Anything else I can do?
Jordan: Can you remember what I have forgotten?
Jordan: Wow!
Pollack: Yeah, that’s not a girly drink… Gin martini.
Jordan: I’m no girl.
Pollack: Fine, I’ll have your apple martini instead.
Jordan: Cheers!
Lily: He wanted you to find them.
Bug: Or he wanted someone else not to find them.
Jordan: Someone who tried to drug him…
Jordan: The first day I meet him, he’s breaking into the morgue trying to
get information he shouldn’t have, taking illegal photos, he was using me then,
nothing’s changed.
Bug: You don’t know that.
Nigel: Computer’s found a connect… ah, never mind.
Bug: What?
Nigel: All the murder’s happened in Massachusetts.
Garret: I’m not done yet… You know, you didn’t have to arrest her.
Lu: Are you kidding? I feel as bad as you do, but this is open and shut.
Garret: Look at these internal injuries, bruising on his lungs.
Lu: And?
Garret: He had a fight with somebody, a physical fight, punches thrown,
about a week ago.
Lu: Are trying to dredge up somebody else with motive?
Garret: Investigative reporters make enemies.
Lu: Jordan was in the room, Jordan was covered with his blood, Jordan had
the gun in her hand. Doctor Macy, I know that this is hard on everybody.
Garret: I’ll testify about this, and a good defense attorney can run with
it.
Lu: This doesn’t come anywhere near reasonable doubt, but I will look
into it.
Garret: Thank you.
Nigel: I got it… no really!
Jordan: … Lily, go get married.
Lily: This wasn’t how I thought my wedding day would be.
Bug: Me either.
Lily: I’m supposed to say that pray in a few hours and I just lied to
Jeffery about what we were doing in here.
Bug: That wasn’t exactly a lie… Jordan’s our friend.
Lily: I’m about to marry Jeffery, why couldn’t I trust him?
Nigel: Nothing but soap residue.
Lance: What did you expect? They’re washed in 250 degree water. Can I put
them away now?
Nigel: You could rinse them a little better.
Woody: Jordan?... What are you doing here?
Jordan: I need that surveillance tape from the bar last night.
Woody: I don’t have it.
Jordan: You can get it.
Woody: Why do you want it?
Jordan: I drank Pollack’s drink, it was drugged.
Woody: Jordan, what are you doing?
Jordan: He was working on a story.
Woody: Reporters do that.
Jordan: About a judge.
Woody: Why would somebody drug his drink because of that?
Jordan: I don’t know, yet. Just work with me here.
Woody: Nothing showed up on your tox screen.
Jordan: Somebody slipped a knock out dose of something into his drink. I
need that video.
Woody: I took myself off the case… I didn’t want to help them put you
away.
Jordan: Get me that tape.
Lu: What are you doing?
Woody: My… cell phone, I’m thinking maybe I left it here.
Lu: It’s on your belt.
Woody: So it is.
Lu: Yeah… there’s no way around the evidence, Woody, depending on what
you are doing to it right now.
Woody: You think I’d tamper with this stuff.
Lu: I think that you would do anything for her.
Woody: Is this what this is about? Your jealousy? Is that why you are
going after her so hard?
Lu: I have bent over backwards to be fair to her. Anybody else I would
have arrested them on the spot, I never even cuffed her. What are you doing in
my office?
Woody: Here’s your inventory list. Go ahead, check everything, knock
yourself out, and when you’re finished, you can search me. We done here?
Lu: Yeah.
Woody: I mean, are we done?
Nigel: Just how much trouble is Woody going to be in if we get caught
with this video.
Bug: What about us?
Jordan: Lance the bartender, he’s staring at us, there’s tons of people
in that place, why’s he watching us?
Bug: There were a lot of people watching you last night.
Nigel: Yeah, when you look like you look, people look.
Jordan: It was him, he was the only one that could have spiked that
drink.
Nigel: Jordan, don’t crazy, ok, don’t go on some half baked notion…
Garret: Are you out of your mind?
Jordan: Garret, we’re onto something here, I did not shoot him.
Garret: Where did you get that?
Nigel: The hotel.
Garret: Think about changing your answer to something resembling the
truth. And you get the hell out of here.
Jordan: Garret, please?
Garret: Get out.
Nigel: … Do you want to know what we found out?
Garret: I’m not surprised at Nigel, but what the hell…
Nigel: What are you going to do fire us? What difference does it make
where we found the damn thing
Garret: Detective Simmons, took all the security tape from the bar, she
sure as hell didn’t give it to you, she didn’t give it to Jordan, I am this
close to firing…
Nigel: (over the top of Garret) You don’t understand… we got something on
here… Will you listen to me…
Lu: I knew it was here. Where did you get it?
Nigel: I stole it.
Lu: I know who stole it, I want to know how it got to you. You’ll tell me
or you’ll tell the judge.
Garret: Thanks guys… Calm down, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know,
just don’t come in here and threaten my people detective.
Lu: Was she here?
Garret: That would be a violation of her bail terms.
Lu: So you are telling me, that when I run prints on this, Jordan’s
prints won’t be on it?
Garret: We’re all after the same thing, the truth.
Nigel: I’m worried about Jordan, I don’t want to be here.
Garret: You know what, suck it up it’s for Lily, you’re lucky you’re not
groveling in front of a judge right now.
Woody: … Where’s Bug?
Garret: He decided not to come.
Jeffery: That’s not the dress.
Lily: I am so sorry, I can’t do this.
Jeffery: Ok,
Lily: Ok?
Jeffery: It was wrong to push, the wedding doesn’t have to be today, we
can postpone
Lily: I don’t mean that I can’t marry you today,… I’m so sorry… Excuse
me, I am so sorry, Jeffery and I are so grateful that all of you came here to be
with us on this… to be with us today, but, and this is completely my fault,
please, please do not blame him, he is a wonderful man, I just, I can’t, the
wedding’s off, I’m sorry…
Jordan: You killed him.
Lance: I didn’t do anything.
Jordan: You drugged his drink.
Lance: No.
Jordan: Then why did you stop? If you didn’t do it you would have kept on
walking… (punches Lance)… I drank that drink, and while I was passed out someone
came into my room and shot him, someone put that gun in my hand, and knew I
wouldn’t remember a thing.
Lance: It wasn’t me, I didn’t kill him.
Jordan: Who was it?
Lance: Some guy… gave me the powder, he paid me a 1000 bucks.
Jordan: What guy?
Lance: No names.
Jordan: Did he say why?
Lance: No.
Jordan: Judge Gordon, Clarence Gordon, ring a bell?
Lance: No.
Jordan: Washington DC.
Bug: Lily?
Lily: Why aren’t you at my wedding?
Bug: I couldn’t watch you marry him… Why aren’t you at your wedding?
Lily: I couldn’t marry him.
Bug: Why not?
Lily: He’s not you.
Woody: No witnesses.
Nigel: Plenty of prints though.
Lu: Run them against Jordan’s.
Woody: Not your case detective.
Lu: The victim worked at the same hotel where Pollack was murdered, and
Jordan thought he might be involved, you really think the world is that small?
Woody: I think it proves Jordan was right. Pollack wasn’t murdered over
some lovers quarrel, there’s something bigger going on here.
Lu: Where is she? She’s now a fugitive, you want to be an accessory?
Woody: I have no idea where she is.
Lu: Whose prints?
Nigel: Jordan’s.
Dealer: I don’t have guns.
Jordan: That’s not what I heard.
Dealer: You heard wrong… (Jordan lays cash on counter) run your 500.
Jordan: That was 500.
Dealer: That was to see it.
Garret: Jordan, Lance Cooke is dead and your prints are all over him, I
don’t need to tell you how this looks. Now’s not the time to do anything stupid,
so just turn yourself in, you know your friends are here for you, we’ll help you
through this, alright, so just call me.
